Required Update for Driver Station

Team Update 12 has a Required Update for the Driver Station to release 16.0.2

https://firstfrc.blob.core.windows.n...Updates/12.pdf

It says the update is part of the FRC 2016 Update Suite here:
https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-46527

I downloaded the update, and installed it. However, the Driver Stations still read version 16.0.1

Re: Required Update for Driver Station

Fixed. I downloaded the update again, and this time it is fine. I originally downloaded it when the Team Update was posted yesterday. They must have put out the Team Update before the new software was posted.

Re: Required Update for Driver Station

808.67 MB download? Seems kind of large for a simple DS update.
This link takes me to the 2016.1.0 update suite. Is there another link for the DS update?

UPDATE****
I went ahead and downloaded the 2016.1.0 update suite and after unzipping, installing and testing the DS now shows version 16.0.2 as it should. It took about an hour to do this update. SHEESH NI don't you do anything simple?

Hm... I can't download the update suite. I go to https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-46527 and click the blue button in the bottom-right for "Download FRC 2016 Update Suite" and get 404.

Re: Required Update for Driver Station

Sorry about that. The update contains much more than the DS. It was much easier for them to rerelease the DS than to make a new small installer.

Re: Required Update for Driver Station

Greg,

Do we need to reprogram the RoboRIO or the PCM after installing the update?

Thanks,
Daniel

Re: Required Update for Driver Station

Just check the versions against what you currently have running according to the Driver Station Diagnostics tab:
  • For PCM/PDP/Jaguar/TalonSRX firmware - compare against C://Users/Public/Public Documents/FRC
  • For RoboRIO firmware - compare against C://Program Files (x86 as appropriate)/National Instruments/Shared/Firmware/cRIO (don't ask)/76F2/
  • For RoboRIO image - compare against C://Program Files (x86 as appropriate)/National Instruments/LabVIEW 2015 (yes, even you Java/C++ users)/project/roboRIO Tool/FRC Images
You should check each time a release comes out just in case you missed an earlier one or added a Talon/PCM/switched roboRIOs.

Re: Required Update for Driver Station

The DS release doesn't require any reprogramming or firmware updates.

Re: Required Update for Driver Station

Hi -
Our team installed this version over the previous DS install for 2016.

When exiting the driver station, a small dialog with the message "Resetting VI: DS UI.vi" appears and doesn't go away (we've waited up to 30min). It can't be closed, but can be killed via the task manager; the DS won't start again unless we kill this.

Anyone else seeing this? Doesn't seem to have any side effects, it's just odd behavior.

Thanks,
Ron

Re: Required Update for Driver Station

I am also encountering the same Problem with the Message after closing the Drive Station. Also the Drive station window does not go into the Full Screen Mode. It Just goes to the Windowed Mode. Not Sure what is going wrong.... Any Help would be Great!!!

Re: Required Update for Driver Station

If it's still in window mode there are buttons on the DS that switch it between full screen and window mode.
The buttons look like this:
