Here is a translation. A colleague of mine here at Delphi is a well-known Klingonist. I sent him the above clip and he translated it.

----------------

tlhIngan Hol DajatlhlaH 'e' DaneH'a'?

"Do you want that you can speak the Klingon language?"
(This sentence is apparently taken from a very old FAQ on Klingon. It has a tell-tale ungrammatical use of the pronoun {'e'} with the verb {neH}, along with an unnecessary {-laH}. Most Klingonists would ask {tlhIngan Hol Dajatlh DaneH'a'} instead.)

jIyajbe'

"I do not understand."

qaStaH nuq!

"What is happening!"
(This is sometimes used colloquially as "What's up?")

Heghle'neH QaQ jajvam.
(This is an obvious misspelling of {Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam}, which is the proper phrasing of "Today is a good day to die.")

DIS!
(I'll assume this is "clipped Klingon" and translate it as the command "Confess!" even though it doesn't have the expected imperative prefix.)

batlh biHeghjaj!

"May you die with honor!"
(The second letter in the second word should be capitalized. There is no lowercase "i" in Klingon orthography.)

val!

This says "He is smart!"
(I think the {l} is there by accident, and it's just supposed to be {va}, a mild curse.)

DIS nuqDaq juH.

(The best I can make out here is that someone wants someone else to reveal the location of his home. It's not at all grammatical, though.)

chaH neH 'Ip.

"An oath wants them."
(I doubt that's what was intended. It might be an attempt to say "They want a promise.")

nuq juH!

This might be a very badly rendered "What home?".

chaH petaQ.

It's backwards for "They are [untranslatable epithet]."

Qapla'

"Success"

Anyway, there you go. No reason to be scared.

speaking klingon?

well according to the census, there are 7000 jedis registered in Australia. I guess anything's possible.

You're right, it is backwords. And "p'taQ" (there are multiple spellings for this) is a general insult. So you get "They are (insert random curse here)".

Really? I get (very roughly, BTW) something about an evil (or bad) place (which could be home too). You are right about it not being grammatical though.

And that's 3 people who can speak Klingon. :) reH bIyIntaHjaj 'ej bIchepjaj.
