Chamber of Secrets
Ok ok... I know there are some Harry Potter fans on this site. I'm just wondering if anyone is gearing up for the second movie. I know I am and so is 2 of my friends. We got some black robes off the internet and are dressing up for the premiere as well as when the 5th book comes out (if it ever does).
Oh well. I think it the second movie is going to be much much better and hopefully you've all kept up on the previews because it looks exciting seeing the pixies! Me. |
*sigh!* Okay. I admit it. I'm into it. My kids are too.
My seven and eight-year-olds want me to make them some robes (There are definite benefits to having a costume designer for a mom around Halloween time. Not to mention Movie premiers). I hope I have time to make some. That will be fun! |
Re: Chamber of Secrets
Sorry Jim - I had to take this one :D

;) Anyway, yes I am a Harry Potter fan. I liked the books but I didn't really care for the movie. I do hope a new book comes out soon - I need something new to read! :D - Katie |
I've never even seen the first movie, much less the second.
|
Well, I'm not saying they are better compared to the book. But when you spend so much time reading and thinking about it you tend to get excited when movies come out on the subject. I still can't wait.
BTW thank's for the Grammar lesson... I don't know what I was thinking at the time. ;) |

heh, harry potter is a cheap rip off of a combo of lord of the rings, and star wars!!!!
whats even worse, is that they have a trading card game. (off the subject there is a monty python one too) |

There were so many trading card games about Star Wars that your second statement is just funny... |
being from WI i go to gen con every year, and see all that stuff, your right almost anything out there has a TCG, from ebay to the game called nerds, there is something out there for anyone
|
Hrm the only thing worse than Harry Potter and the lord of the rings is moulin rouge! :D
|
heh
you just want KT to kill you don't you DJ?
|
I envy you who has the ability to just mosey on over to GEN CON just because it happens to be near you. I'm green with envy, just like my current neatest MTG deck...
|
Come on now....
You can't say it's like star wars... I don't see any resemblence... and besides Lord of the Rings has a wizard and wizards all have the same general appearance .... for ex. long flowing beard. Oh well think what you want but there will always be those who disagree. Me. |
Harry Potter is the greatest book series of the moment. I must say I'm a huge fan, last year I invited tons of friends to come along to see the premiere of the movie, celebrating my birthday (Movie came out Nov. 16th, My b-day is Nov. 18th :) ), and this year The Chamber of Secrets is coming out Nov. 15th. :p I think I might start a tradition of seeing harry potter premieres every year for my birthday.
Star wars is nothing like Harry Potter. Ever. Don't even compare them or I shall go off on you. I'm a die hard Star Wars fan too. LOTR is awesome too, can't all these movies just exist in perfect harmony? or not. Anyways, point is - there is no point. Movies are just to enjoy and to have fun with, and make millions of dollars in ticket sales and merchandise from the movies. Gotta make a livin' somehow ;) |

OH yeah I forgot this picture! It looks cool.:D
|
That's a silly poster...it gives the movie a bad impression...the sword comes into play for about 1/20th of the book.
I am a Potterhead...I know how to play the card game...I am psyched to see the new movie...I have all the books in hardback in the 4 book collection set... The 5th book has a release date of July 2003... BTW, LoTR has a card game too.... |
I saw the original Star Wars 37 times in theaters.
I have read the LOTR several times. I am glad I discovered HP this summer. It made the summer go more quickly (which means I am closer to the FIRST Saturday in January). All three are very enjoyable in their own ways. KL PS. Delphi, send more engineers. It is getting boring out here without you folks. |
Heh...
Anyone else seen Harry's a Pothead and the Sorceror's Stoned? It was stoopid funny. Wetzel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ H:\Just Passing Thru\Just Passing Thru - Creed - My Own Prison.mp3 |
Harry Potter seems like a waste of time. Books are to long. I tried to read the first one on the crapper and it lost my interest in about 5 pages. I didn't see the movie either.
/me throws a rock at dave |
Yeah, Harry Potter rules. I read the massive 4th book in one day after it came out. The world that Rowling created with these books is so deliciously perfect. I wonder, how are they going to keep making the movies every year, if Rowling can't write that fast? The actor would grow up faster than the story progresses. And how the heck are they going to make a movie out of that beast of a book "The Goblet of Fire". They're going to have to cut out some major parts of the story in order to keep the length reasonable.
As far as the movies go, I didn't like the first one too much. It did capture the feeling of the book and the acting was good, but I felt that somethings were overdone. I felt the choice of actors was good in relation to the people created in the books. I'll probably go see the second one when it comes out. [edit]And if you don't like books, I think the problem is on your end. |
