Game Balls?

Anyone know a good, cheap, supplier of the PUMA balls used for the game? Can't seem to find a listing in the manual.

Idea.....

Anyone think of asking your highschool if they have them for the school soccer team (if your school has one)....i dont know if they are the same brand...but they may be the same size...and if it isnt soccer season (is it? during feb. or march.).......

Just an idea

our main sponsor sells and makes soccer equipment and goals. So if anyone needs balls i will see if i can get them at a reduced rate. I will have to check and will post back.

The sheet I got at the Novi Kickoff said the balls are standard, size 5 soccer balls. Those shouldn't be too hard to find.

My suggestion for balls is to buy ones that are hard around the outside. Some balls are made of a plastic material rather than a synthetic leather. This is for teams looking for cheaper balls or if the specific ones from the specs aren't available. Thats just from a soccer players prospective.

soccer balls

unfortunately, most school's soccer seasons are just about half way through at this point (which was the reason i quit soccer... can't play and do robotics at the same time:(). As for cheap soccer balls, don't go for puma. they're more expensive than some other brands that aren't the 'designer' soccer labels. make sure you get game balls... notice the glossy finish on the ball we're using. practice balls normally don't have the coating, so they'll interact differently with each other compared to the glossy balls. hope this helps!

Quite an odd predicament, as for the soccer balls, I can speak as a former soccer player in saying that most good soccer balls will cost some money.. Puma are good, but I'm sure there are many other brands you can find in your local sporting retailer for a cheaper price..

Try looking for something on websites, of course then you have shipping delays.. Oh well..

We should go to

WALMART i think i sells soccer balls. No seriously (am i ever serious) any "GOOD" sporting store has some of grade 5 is it? balls shoudn't be a problem. At least you don't have to order it though first like the bigballs and the small balls last year.

my thought is that if first made you purchase the balls from them we could by them at a wholesale price, thus making them cheaper

but thats just me

I played soccer for 7 years and reffed soccer for 4. Even at wholesale prices, Puma's are going to be more expensive than other brands full price.

~Tom Fairchild~, who kinda misses reffing now and then.

Last night while looking for the Puma ball that FIRST uses, I found that the cheapest price on the net was $14.99 (or very close to that) per ball....

Soccer Balls

We priced soccer balls size 5 (all brands) all the way home (Alabama) from the Kokomo Kick-off last night.

Wal-Mart seems to be the least expensive, $10.99, but not Puma brand. Puma are about $20.00 each in stores. The problem will be just finding 10 balls that are the same color or that quantity at one place.

Hopefully, FIRST will have us a supplier by the end of the week.
