I have a habit to always look for hidden connections/meaning in things so don't blame me for going off on to far of a tangent.

Ok well maybe I'm grasping a little far to find the connection here but PUMA is also a manufacturer of an industrial robotic manipulator arm....We actually have one sitting in a classroom at the college I go to. I don't know exactly how old it is but I think this is a cool coincidence?

I have played soccer for every year of my life since I was five. I grew up in a soccer playing family, and through the years have gained a numerous amount of size five soccer balls. If your team doesn't want to spare a few hundred dollars for balls, consider this; take donations from friends or other students who would be willing to loan you a soccer ball or two. All size fives should be similar enough in size and pressure to work fine in the robot design. Also, you may be able to ask your school if you can use the team's soccer balls, but I think it is unlikely that the athletics departmet will let you take them. They are on a tight budget too and I bet they won't want to take any risks of having them destroyed. Also, the soccer team may not appreciate having you take them either. You may be able to ask your town's parks and rec department for donations if they have a soccer league in the fall and spring, but the same circumstances may apply. Ask around your school and friends for loans, that may be the best and least expensive way.

Actually the ball we are using is the NEO CAMPO not the TEAM NEO.....dont know if there is much different except for the name......

If i am not mistaken, the only difference between the campo and the team neo is the inside material and the panel count.....I used to use that ball when I played soccer...well at least it was a yellow puma ball and I dont think there are too many different models...:D

We still haven't received our kit.

I'm a bit confused as to which model PUMA ball is the correct one for this years game. Is it the PUMA CAMPO CAT NEO?

Sorry for asking, but I don't want to make a mistake ordering them since they are a bit pricey. How many do you think a team needs? 10?

Most of the internet sites I visited about the PUMA socker balls listed the CAT NEO as being in stock, HOWEVER, in size 3 only!

Also, our soccer expert tells us that sockerballs have several surface textures/characteristics and that there are 4 (I think that's he said) that are tightly regulated. The Puma balls that we are using have a "PU" surface.

Out sports equipment supplier informed us that Puma is sold out of the size 5 versions of the CAT NEO model and won't begin production until May.

Bottom Line:

We ordered a different soccer ball that is size 5 with the "PU" surface.
