Atlanta anyone?

I haven't posted in forever. Too much to do :). I've read the posts about the regionals and so far only Metal in Motion said they were coming to Atlanta. Anyone else thinking of joining us for the "Peachtree" Regional here in Atlanta? We're working hard to plan a great regional. Hope to see some of you there.

We (Team 356) are thinking about Atlanta as our second regional. Depends on finances.

I noticed that there are a lot of rookie teams signed up for the Atlanta Regional. That is great! Team members of Metal In Motion (343) are looking forward to being a part of the excitement. Please take note of how many new teams are coming from the Palmetto State (SC). This speaks well to the growth not only in our state but the south as well. Let the games begin!

Pearl River High school will be there... we're a third year team, and have attended the Houston regional for the past two years.

Rickertsen2 23-02-2003 14:20

We will be there.

Iain 23-02-2003 14:52

We'll be there. We'll be easy to recognize, too - we'll be with the robot that needs new drill motors after every match. :D

Rickertsen2 23-02-2003 14:56

Does anybodty have any pics/descriptions? we have a lifter/pusher bot w/wings. we do not go under the bar

yelly 23-02-2003 18:06

Hmm. No pictures, but don't be nervous.. our robot is really bad.

BBFIRSTCHICK 23-02-2003 18:15

Team 1077 "All Stars" will see you all there

lol we made 80% of our robot out of 30yr old woodshop tools with dull woodblades.

Team 356 will definitely be in Atlanta this year. We think the Atlanta regional is going to be really terrific.

::laughs:: Tools, what are those? Oh, you mean a hammer? We just got one of those this year.

::sigh:: I'm proud that with our resources we managed to build the robot.. but.. engineers would have been nice. I'm such a whiner.

So nevermind.. our robot is great!

I wish we could go to the PeachTree regional after all its closer then the Florida we're going to but we're pretty broke. Good luck to one of our Favorite Teams Metal In Motion!

Thanks and good luck to all of you.
Especially MiM lol. ;)

Vincent Chan 28-02-2003 22:09

Yeah, we'll be there. Team 1127.

For anyone that was at the Tech work/practice day, we were the team with the asian kid and the freshman.

However, our bot now moves and functions! :)

pauluffel 28-02-2003 22:39

Heh, sorry that Chan that didn"t explain what our robot does by function. We go go under the bar and can stack boxes sometimes. When we aren"t stacking, we"ll be launching boxes (yes, it works).(::THUNK:: "owwwwww...can't you at least warn me before you launch next time?" ::THUNK:: "grahhhh!!!"(<--battle cry of death)::severe beating of moron on the controls::)

So if you"re going to Peachtree, heads up!
