Converting AutoCAD to pdf file

Would it be possible to convert the AutoCAD files into a pdf file or something else we can open in WORD?

I am just getting heiroglyphics.

Thanks.

Brandon Martus 20-09-2002 19:58

These files can only be opened in AutoCAD. I don't have AutoCAD or I would convert them.

I'll direct this thread to the proper people. ;)

Field Layout

The field layout sent was an earlier version that does not show the four foot diagonal 2" by 4" corner boards that the committee wanted in the corners, in front of the human player stations. The modified layout will come your way soon. I believe the field pieces are all shown correctly. If you can't open the CAD files here, all people on the OCCRA e-mail list have been sent files that can be opened in Word.

please forward files to me

Can someone please forward the files all the teams received by e-mail. For some reason Team 469 was not on the list. We would like to build field components tomorrow and are frantically looking for drawings we can read.

My e-mail address is:
GSALP@aol.com

Thank you for your support.

I cant download the drawings, it says the file does not exist, if someone could email them to me at jp2morga@oakland.edu it would be good.

size of plywood for cart

The acrobat reader files I received to don appear to show a dimension for the plywood bottom of the cart. It shows casters, corner radius, etc. Do you know the length of the plywood.

Thanks.

gail 22-09-2002 12:31

I am ctually looking forthe length and width of the piece of plywood for the bottom of the rolling cart that the top rail and wheels mount to.

ie. what size piece of plywood? 2ft x 2ft, or 3ft by 3ft?

Yesterday our team built a cart and the tower. If i remember correctly and understand what dimension you are asking for, its 2 feet. (The width/height of the cart.)

We had to open the drawings in autocad and put in an extra dimension to figure it out.

Also, for anyone who wanted to know, the pipe flanges that attach the pvc to the wood bases are NOT drawn to scale.

PS: I included a pic to show what dimension i mean. (I really dimensioned it yesterday, but because i only have 3ds max at home, i hade to open the .dwg file up in max and then add the dimension in paint)

PPS: If you need to get any other dimensions, post and i'll try to get them for you

Field Drawings - improved

Justin Howard has promised improved, accurate drawing in a few days.

These will include the error corrections of the corners that should be 4 feet on diagonal not 8 feet. This is where the human player station will be. There will be a clear protective barrier placed that will allow balls to roll to the human.

What is different is the distance between human players, as that is now increased when correcting the drawing.

We will be asking Jim Meyer to convert them with ACROBAT Reader.
Hey, Jim Meyer can you do this for us? Contact Justin please.

No problem

I'll send him an email.

I also have a PDF that Justin sent me last night ... but Eudora corrupted it... :\ I'll get that online ASAP, once I get a new version of it...

Errors in CAD drawings

There are a few things left out in the CAD drawings for the OCCRA 2002 carts. For starters, what is the thickness and size of the wood platform? Second is what material are the 1.25" floor flangesthat connect to the 1.5" PVC pieces?
Any information would be a big help.
Thanks in advance,
C. Fox 247 Da' Bears

Floor flanges

The carts are 2' x 2' and made of the same 3/4" plywood as the goal tower; note that the corners of the cart are rounded to match the radius of the floor flanges (they did not appear that way on one of the views I saw). The floor flanges are iron and were available at Home Depot (at least they used to be: I haven't checked lately). They are the same as the flanges on the goal tower.
