Snowblower Motor driveshaft
So we bought the snowblower motor from andymark but didn't buy the sprocket we needed since at the time we didn't know it was a unique axle design nor did we know we would need a sprocket in the future. With the current canadian exchange and shipping it would take 100$ to order a small sprocket with the 10mm DD bore junk for an axle slot. Does anybody know of any cheaper and reliable sources for something like this? (25 series sprocket)

Re: Snowblower Motor driveshaft
if it's a hubbed sprocket, can you drill out diameter to size of snowblower shaft, and then tap a set screw in side of hub to connect to snowblower shaft. good luck.

Re: Snowblower Motor driveshaft
Depends on what machining capability you have access to, and what other sprockets you have in hand.
If you have some 1/2 hex sprockets- 1) Best bet would be to water-jet a DD Hex insert 2) Mill a DD insert in Hex Shaft Stock. 3) Not the best fit, but you could also try just a 10mm center hole in a lathe. And then use preferably two set screw against the two flats. |
Re: Snowblower Motor driveshaft
A good machinist with a milling machine could make easy work of modifying a hub to DD
