good looking robot and video! Should be interesting to see how durable that arm is :P

That's a very nice robot. We had considered a design similar to what you have. Do the two support tubes running front to back on either side of your arm restrict access to the electronics, motors etc.? Are you able to use the collector/arm to help you cross Defenses like the Cheval de Frise, Sally Port, Drawbridge and Portcullis?

Are those 6" wheels? Also, what is the gearing for the shooter? How much are you compressing the ball? That I'd an amazing shooter!

Most of the electronics are on the outer edges of the robot so the support tubes do not restrict access to the electronics. We are working on using the arm to cross the defences but have been having issues with the gearing.

The wheels on our shooter are 6 inch wheels connected 1:1 to CIMs with the space between the wheels about 8.5 inches. The wheels are also below center on the boulders and that creates backspin.

Thank you for replying. My team currently has 2 mini cims geared 1:1.67 (or so) but we want to try to change the gearing on so we have a little more torque. We currently have a gap that is 7.5". I'm not sure if we have tried 8.5". We are also running with the 4" Stealth Wheels.

We have been throwing around the idea of changing to a 3:1 gearing with MiniCIMs for our shooter.

The quality of your videography is fantastic. That shooter is really impressive; if only full court shots were allowed in this game! Good luck and have fun!

Did anyone else think at the end "Dang... Why can't full court shooting be allowed this year.". Not sure how many tries it took but that was cool. And nice robot too.

Thanks! To have our video be compared to 610's videos is an honor.

Yah it took a couple of tries... but our robot is definitely more accurate than our team members.

Do you have pictures posted somewhere that you would be willing to share? We ended up doing something similar, but different, so it would be cool to compare notes. I'm not sure when our video will be out.

Are you using a CIM (or two) to raise and lower your arm? It is hard to tell from the angles and distances from the camera in the video. What sort of issues are you having with the gearing?

Pictures of what? I can take some while I'm at the shop tomorrow. We were using 1 CIM in a 40:1 gearbox and then 20:84 gears. The issues we were having were due to the arm being ~3 ft long with a 10 lbs shooter on the end. When we went over the defences the stress on the teeth of the gears sheared them which is why there is no footage of us going over defences in the reveal. We reconfigured our arm so it's less than a foot long and that fixed the issue.
