The pit labeled 3043 is incorrect (that team is from El Paso and isn't coming).
That pit should be for 3003.
Looks like just a typo.

Good eye Mark, it would appear that you are correct. Thanks for the clarification.
Hopefully they didn't mistype their pit display number either!

For anyone traveling from outside the area (looking at you 4481), go check out the Empire State Plaza in Albany. There's a ton of cool Dutch architecture as well as some more unusual buildings...

Egg.

Hey everyone. Who's excited for a little TVR action this week?! I know I am!

Anyway, I'm going to be your FTAA for the event (make sure to come say hi!) and got myself in a bit of a pickle. I'm coming from the Rochester area. My plans fell through last minute so I don't currently have a place to stay for the event. If any local teams/mentors/parents/volunteers would be willing to let me couch-surf for a couple days, or if any traveling teams happen to have an empty space in one of your hotel rooms you'd be willing to share, I would be forever grateful. I can get a hotel room on my own, and will if I have to, but I'm trying to minimize the cost of travel this year since I'm doing 6 events.

If you're able to help in any way, please PM me. I really appreciate it!

See you all Thursday morning!

What an event!

Congratulations to 359, 3990, and 4508 for winning the event, 3990 again for winning Engineering Inspiration, and to 229 for winning the Chairman's Award!

Thank you to 229 for joining 5254 and 20, and thank you to 1665 for coming in clutch in the semifinals when 229's drivetrain had to unfortunately fail.

Shout outs to:
2791 and 3419, who we were debating picking over 20 on 5254. After weighing a number of scenarios, we ended up selecting 20, but 2791 made our semifinal match-up incredibly hard with 5236, and their third partner, 3624, aka "Magic Bucket".

Also a big shout-out to 4481, who was byfar the most enthusiastic team at the event, with the most ambitious machine there. Everyone wanted you as their third robot, and your outreach is amazing and well-known. If anyone at TVR deserved a trip to championships for their global outreach, it was your team.

I'm ecstatic that 5254 can attend the world championship once again this year, and I'm also glad that every robot in the finals can attend worlds this year due to the Wildcard system.

I'll see many of you in a week at the Finger Lakes event!

What a fun 3 days at RPI for TVR

The quality of play was excellent and some really impressive teams that could possibly go pretty far at Championship.

Team 1493 would like to thank 48 for selecting us to partner with. It was an honor to be noticed and selected by such a iconic team. We have been working really hard the last 2 years to improve our program and it is nice to see the hard work paying off. I wish we could do FLR this weekend but the back to back regionals is a killer and we don't have the ability. (Can we please figure out districts NY???)

Best of luck to our other alliance partners 1551 at FLR this week, and good luck to all the Capital District teams at FLR this weekend, bring some banners back to the area.

Team 48 had fun working with you guys! I think our alliance could have made it farther without our cylinder issues, but it was fun while it lasted.

Great event!

We obviously didn't do as well as we'd have liked to--a faulty PDP followed by a faulty PCM didn't help things any, and we literally ground our (WCP aluminum) drive gears round (and aren't sure how/why that happened). Without time to replace them, we hoped they'd last the tournament; alas, had they survived another twenty feet I think we'd have been semifinalists, but we backed through the Sally Port and then...spinning motors, no impulse.

Thanks to 48 and 1493 for a hard-fighting alliance, and to 229 for some hex shaft afterward so we could keep things tidy as we yanked our gearboxes off in preparation for this week.

Having your season end week 2, or 3 is not fun for anyone.

You can still have your year end on week 2 or 3 in districts

Districts add playtime for the same cost as a regional

Team 145 would like to thank teams 250 and 333 for choosing us to round out your alliance. I think we had the makings of a real spoiler but it just didn't happen. We loved 333's auto, and 250's amazing scouting program was inspiring.

We knew we had a decent machine, even though our rank was pretty low, when we were scouted by 3 or 4 of the top teams on Saturday morning.

We made some new friends and re-connected with some old ones as well.

We held the high score with 359 and 3419 for most of the day on Friday!
(Thanks 3419 for the shove at the end!)

TVR gets the best talent from New York, the Northeast, The US, North America and the World!

Congrats to the planning committee for a great event.
The judges, referees and volunteers are top notch and Angry Eric is the best in the biz!

We look forward to playing the game again at the Robot Rumble in October and seeing all of you again.

BTW, the Quals 49 would have been scored with 198 points in elims, which would have exceeded the 195 non-penalty points we scored twice in the elims at CVR. Congrats on a great match.
