Either way, it was super interesting to see it come out in finals.

The noodle blocker was 294/330's. Our robot was designed to breach defenses, not play defense. However, 294 chose us to play defense for them so we had to make some major modifications.

Feel free to check out what our robot originally looked like here (drag the CAD at the bottom, it's 3D!). We didn't need to see the far end of the field, go over the cheval de frise / portcullis, or intake balls in the finals, so we took a bunch of stuff off to make room for the pool noodles and minimize ramming damage.

We were wondering when the noodles would show up:) And they did block a couple of shots( auto target/shooting was slower on those occasions and probably should have switched to manual shot:)) revisions ready by LVR will give us better options...

Wow! Very impressive regional.

Team 4276 had their best performance to date: 7th place at the end of Quals and 5th alliance captain for elimination rounds.

A big thank you to all the teams who played with us, especially Team 3476 (Code Orange) and Team 1138 (Eagle Engineering) for joining our alliance. We had a blast.

Week 5 in Las Vegas will be here before we know it!

Thank you for picking us. We had a blast playing with you and 1138.

A special thanks needs to be given to 696 for their incredible display of GP. Both our comp bot and our backup worm gearbox steel shafts were twisted and they saved the day by bringing us some replacement shaft that Bill in the Cows Machine shop lathed for us. Kudos to all who helped out. You made a lifetime BFFRC for sure:)

Sorry its been a couple of days.

Team 294 wanted to say that once again we had an amazing time at the Los Angeles regional. This year we rebounded after having a sub-par year in 2015. With a much larger team full of rookies, we are very proud of our students. We didn't know what to expect of our robot this year and once we got our match schedule... (we likened it to murder's row) we thought we stood no chance beating 330 or 987 in the Qual matches. However whether it be luck or some amazing gameplay, we managed to go undefeated in the Qual matches. Though we truly wish we would have had the chance to play with 987... that would have been a great pairing.

We would like to congratulate 1197 987 and 5012 in the amazing finals matches and pulling out the victory. We would like to thank our partners team 330 and 1452. For those of you who don't know team 294 has not been in an alliance with 330 since 2001.. so it was so awesome to play with our friends (instead against them... ) And 1452 thanks for letting us put on the key lime cheesecake. It was a lot of fun.

Finally congrats to 3309 (my alma-mater) for winning Chairmans, you guys have come such a long way and its amazing to see where you will go next.

See you all in the Orange County Regional!

Thanks Ken! This is an awesome milestone for us. Look forward to seeing 294 again at OCR.
