Team 1523 Presents: Pathfinder

We are super stoked to share our 2016 robot for FIRST Stronghold.

We can cross all defences from the neutral zone, except the low bar.
Also have an accurate high goal shooter, as well as low goal capability.
Drive train is 6 wheel drive pneumatic tires, powered by 4 CIM and 2 Mini CIM motors with a 2 speed gearbox.
Arms are powered by 1000:1 bag motors.

Over 2,400 hours of time has been logged by 40 students during the 6 week build season.

Good luck at competition!

Awesome robot! Did you powdercoat your frame? Looks great. Also, is that a 4-bar linkage for your arm? I'd love to see a video of it actuate. The chain on your shooter looks a little bit loose, but that might just be the angle I'm looking at it.
Can't wait to see you guys compete!

EDIT: Looking at it again, I see that it's not a four-bar. Would still love to see a video though.

No you had a good eye the first time. It is a four bar linkage. And actually no the frame is not powder coated it is just spray painted.

I'd like to see a video of you manipulating the category C defenses once you've had more practice. I really have been yearning for a robot that can cross them from the neutral zone without assistance.

Do you know how it handles the drawbridge flexibility?

The flexibility is something we're slightly concerned about, because we haven't tested with it yet. And we're getting faster day by day with opening the defences, Sally port in particular.

I may throw together a video of us practicing to show our improvements.
