BIG! Speed Controller/PWM problems....

While chatting around today....EJ from 254 told me that the PWM cables that were provided in his teams kit do not fit into the connection slots on the Speed Controller....He said that there is a tab on the connection point (on the Speed Controller) that gets in the way....

Anyone else experience this problem or know what the problem is so EJ can figure it out????

I've also just found out from David Kelly that he has the same problems with his speed controllers.

here's what we mean. i don't know if anyone else has looked at it yet but it has that little tall lip thing and it won't let the connector thing go in

Oh boy, that's not good...

Awww, they go and change the Vics and now we have 660 immovable bots. What a sneaky trick...

(I'm gonna carve the PWM connector a notch with a Dremel if I need to - we don't have time for downtime in this game.)

883's

if necessary can we use older victors from seasons past in stead of buying the newer ones?

tyler forbes

we still use some from '99

We opened up our Victors this afternoon. The PWM slot had a rectangular nub on the lower left hand corner and a semi-circular tab on the central right hand side.

We initially had problems inserting the PWM cable. After lining up the plug again carefully, the PWM cable inserted snugly into the slot.

The newer 'tabs'on the PWM cables were mentioned in the Innovation FIRST presentation Friday at the Kick Off in NH. Their reasoning behind the little nibs and a tighter fit was a more positive retention to prevent the PWM cable from popping loose from the speed controller during the heat of competition.

Yea, we initially had problems but after about... 10 minutes... we finally got them in! ;)

Removable 'Sleeve'

Is the 'Sleeve' on the PWM-in on the new VICs removable, or is it part of the real casing? I really don't want to accidently pull the wires off and have a connerctor in a sleeve on a Vic. That would be a cranky day...
