Thanks to everyone that competed at cvr, it is always a fantastic event, and thanks to every team that gave us feedback or helped us out throughout the weekend, especially Kelly from 1678 for all the help with our cameras. Can't wait to improve and show everyone what we can do at svr week 4!

This year's Central Valley Regional was awesome! The atmosphere and facilities were great, every volunteer was eager and kind, and the competition was intense. IMO it was the best CVR yet, and it will only get better. Thanks to 1323, 8, and 5677, you guys were so much fun to work with.

That funny moment when you look up the results of this event more in depth and discover that the entire finalist alliance (including back up robot) is going to championship

1323 gets a wildcard via 1678 winning the regional and being last years world champion
5817 gets Rookie All Star
8 gets a wild card via 254 winning the regional and being a hall of fame team
5677 gets a wild card via 1671 winning engineering inspiration and being last years world champion

I love the wild card system so much for this very reason, but I am curious about why 8 was unable to play in elims.

Ah, missed your question. Team 8 was very bummed out about about missing the chance to play in eliminations. Unfortunately we had an issue with a fault because of an internal short in our RoboRio (not even the inspectors and control system advisors were sure exactly what was going on to the point where they were going to let it slide). We weren't able to replace our rio in time and so we switched out with 5677.

That said, we are very appreciative of how well our alliance played during eliminations and the fact we are going to St. Louis because of it! Best of luck to 1323, 5817, and 5677!

Congrats to all the teams going...give them a taste of what CVR teams can do and win the last true Einstein Championship. CA did great last year lets do it again. We'll be rooting all the CA teams on from sunny CA (yea I'm in So cal not that rainy north)...good luck to all. Do it and have a blast.

Beautiful regional. Not surprised at all with the quality of 254 and 1678, but a lot of teams really made this the best regional I've seen yet.

During Playoffs:

We captured the tower 5.02% more than the average.

We made 2.92 more high goals per match than the average.

We set the world high score.

Also, my prediction: 1678 wins worlds back-to-back.

Seeing as this is the last "World" Championship for the foreseeable future, this is one of the reasons we have been working so hard this year. We would be elated to win again this year to hold the title of "The Last World Champions" alongside 3 other amazing teams. And none of it has been or will be possible without the help of all the teams we compete with at our events. I personally feel like I never have enough hours at our events to get to know and help enough teams.

Ah, you're the 11-years in FRC fella I talked to. This game looks like its going to be incredibly competitive at the top level, go get California another win!

A huge thank you to Alan Hollman and all the volunteers at CVR for putting on another stellar event. 1678 had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed competing with and against some of the best teams in California.

Thank you to our alliance partners, teams 254 and 3970 who both played at the highest level and helped us achieve the world high score of 210 in our second quarter final. Duncan, your team's driving and defense were a joy to watch (much to 5817's dismay) and 254, well you did what you always do and showed the world how the game is supposed to be played.

There were so many awesome teams at the event but I want to give a big shout out to the three rookie teams 5817, 5852 and 6059 for competing with the best of us and inspiring other rookies across the FIRST community.

Big congrats to team 812 for a thoroughly deserved Chairman's Award, team 1671 for EI, team 5817 for RAS and especially to Adam Heard for a well-deserved WFFA. Adam, you and your team have been an inspiration to us for our entire team's history and I'm so happy that you finally got the recognition you deserve.

Once again, thanks to everyone for making CVR such a fun and competitive event and we look forward to seeing some of you at SAC and SVR.

I've told both 3303 and 3970 that I'm not talking to either of them again after the defense they played on us during playoffs. :D Hopefully we have an easier time avoiding them when we have all four wheels working. :p
