Heh. If companies just stuck to what they knew, we would be nowhere. There must be integration somewhere along the line...else we most likely would never have computers, the internet, or anything wireless. Sony makes INCREDIBLY laptops. They are my laptop of choice (well...if I ever had an unlimited laptop budget, I would buy a Vaio). They are small, sleek, and fast! Motorola also makes exceptional CPU's...they're just made differently (maybe better...maybe not) than ix86 procs.
Not to sound mean, but your 2 cents aren't worth a whole lot :D
Ohh...and Kyle, I agree with you on most part...except speed can matter. There is a bit of difference between running OfficeXP on a 200mhz and a 2000mhz machine. The speed difference is insane. (If you really want to see a difference install Linux on both computers, then recompile the kernel. Heh. Wanna see something that takes all night? Then watch the 200mhz recompile...the 2ghz will be done in <3 mins.) Speed does matter to a point. For the most part, a 1ghz will suit almost ANYBODY's consumer needs. Sometimes for a gaming machine, faster is better...but for the average consumer, I tend to push people towards Athlons, Durons, or Celerons. I push people away from Intel P4's due to the HUGE price and the not-so-much speed difference.
Anyways...that's my $.02. Plus my earlier $.02. Huh. Maybe I need to start a tab.
