What is the material that you use to spin the rollers? Surgical tubing?

This is correct. By the way, we ended up snipping off the bottom most bands, as they kept coming off track and stalling the motor. It made no difference to the intake (except it stopped smoking), since the ball already had enough speed rolling in.
