How in the world did they capture the tower without crossing defenses?? (Red got 2 pts for defenses, but that is reaching in autonomous.. they have to cross defenses in order to contact the opponent courtyard in order to score boulders)

Re: pic: What's wrong with this score?

Agreed

You can't score without crossing defenses.... or scale
What was going on? Did they miss ALL of the crossings.

The minimum defense score had to have been 10 Even if all three teams only went over the same defense every time.
This is impossible. All three robots were challenging the tower at the end so they have to have crossed a defense. There were no penalties assessed for coming in the secret passage way.

Ummm....

Something is weird here...

Nah, the concept of video replays is absolutely absurd. I'm confident that this match was scored correctly -- the robots just simply teleported.

This wouldnt be the first time a score was shown wrong and corrected.

There was a problem with real-time defense scoring. The match was replayed the next morning.

This scenario is hypothetically possible with a spybot (and some generous human players on the opposing alliance).

Re: pic: What's wrong with this score?

You could travel via the secret passage to avoid the defenses, but then some penalties would show up.

The other two robots would still need to get accross somehow without scoring penalties.

Only if G28 is enacted twice which means there would be at least 35 challenge/scale points.

Re: pic: What's wrong with this score?

One or two bots could have been in the spy box and the third could have been feeding stones to them until the end when they crossed to capture the tower.

Re: pic: What's wrong with this score?

Now I look at it closer it doesn't appear to be possible. There was a scoring mistake.

Re: pic: What's wrong with this score?

Not that it DID happen like this, but it COULD have happened like this:
  • All of the boulders red scored except the 3 auto boulders were from the blue secret passage, or cleverly bowled by a human player. Too many ways to reach 42 with eight or more boulders that I won't try to count.
  • RedBotA began in the courtyard as the SPYBOT.
  • RedBotA drove into the secret passage, up to the edge of the neutral zone, and RedBotB drove on top of RedBotA. RedBotA then drove back into the courtyard and RedBotB drove off. No G20 foul. ::rtm::
  • RedBotC tried to cross the ramparts at full speed and flipped so severely that the right bumper flipped up over the left divider, so while it successfully traversed the outer works, it did not complete a CROSS due to the second bullet in 3.1.3.
  • All three robots clamber onto unique portions of the BATTER at match end.

No stranger than those triple tortugas and the near-misses and the traveling rock wall.:D

Re: pic: What's wrong with this score?

If my math is correct, Red Robot A starts in the neutral zone and gets a reach in autonomous, but breaks down. Red Robot B starts in the spy box, scores 8 high goals and 1 low goal (boulders would have to be stolen from blue alliance or via some great human player action) and then scales at the end.

Doesn't explain the capture, though.
