Robot Photos

I get kind of excited about photos of robots. After all, each team has worked REALLY hard on this year's robot - there should be a record of what that robot looks like. And pictures of robots are an easy way to remember what that team did out on the field.

I've been loading the pictures that my team and I take onto FRC Tracker 2016, and into Blue Alliance.

Now for the questions.

1. Do you use pictures of the other robots in your competition?
2. If so, where do you look for those photos?

Thanks!

I forgot to take a picture but 234 did a great job of getting pictures of all the robots at the Walker Warren District Event and had them all on a board for teams to see along with team numbers. I believe they took the photos at the event the first day.

Do you know where they put the photos so that all the teams could get them?

For the event they posted them on a big poster board next to pit admin. You'd have to ask them if you'd like them to be made public online.

I went around and asked every team that didn't already have a picture on tba at my last competition (PNW- CWU event) if I could take a picture of their robot for scouting and put it on the blue alliance. Everyone was ok with it. Apparently someone else had the same idea because when we looked back on tba there was multiple pictures obviously taken in the pits for robots that had none before (that was probably a good thing because some of my pictures refused to upload due to WiFi issues.)

I did a few myself, some like yours not uploading due to issues. Even if they did have photos on TBA i still uploaded mine because i felt that more pictures of a robot, the better for others to really check out the robot if they cant be there themselves. If you took any of ours feel free to upload them, i love seeing them.

I found the process for uploading to Blue Alliance to be quite cumbersome, especially since I had 109 photos. First I had to upload each one to Chief Delphi, then wait for them to be approved, then capture the URL for each one and add them individually to Blue Alliance. I can't do that AT a competition - it's too time consuming and requires a good wifi connection. Is that the process you used too?

But I agree - more photos are better!

I didn't take any of your robot unfortunately, because you already had one uploaded. I was doing the pictures more for scouting purposes than for people who couldn't be there but I'll keep that in mind in the future :)

I used the android app, which just recently got the ability to take a picture and upload it in one step. I was at a university so I had decent WiFi, but as I said before I did run into trouble uploading pictures depending on which area of the pit I was standing in. The only caveat to this was the pictures weren't as good quality because I took them on my phone instead of with the fancy digital camera that was literally hanging around my neck.

I find that using imgur to upload to TBA is a little easier than posting on CD. I do wish that they'd allow you to upload directly to the website.
