#2212 Searching for help during champs

Hello!
It's my teams first time at champs and we are having problems with bringing everything we need to the event, we're from Israel and the shipping costs is over our budget. Are there teams who can help us during the event? We will need to loan tools(not all the time, just sometimes in the pits if there is a problem) and we will also need help with building a cart for our robot. Thank you in advance:)

We're 1369 Minotaur from Tampa, Florida. If we are in same division, you are welcome to borrow any of our tools. We're bringing both our tool boxes. What kind (i.e. size) of robot cart do you need? We might have an extra one we can bring (http://www.harborfreight.com/24-in-x...uck-62212.html)

Assuming we go, you can always hit us up. We kinda bring everything not nailed down with us. :)

I have a suggestion for a cart. When we attended 2 years ago, we didn't want to take our big/heavy cart. We went to Harbor Freight and picked up a fairly cheap cart and used it for the event - it worked very well, was light, and folded up nicely.

There is a store in St Louis:
4610 Chippewa St Ste A, St. Louis, MO 63116
Item is:

It's probably easier and cheaper then trying to build one on site.

Last year, we didn't bring our big heavy cart, so instead we went to pit admin and asked if anyone had something we could use. One team came to the rescue with a simple wooden dolly that had carpet stapled to it. It ended up being easier to manage than our actual cart, and really saved the day! When we went to return it, the team had already packed up and left so sadly we never got to thank them in person.

To that end, it might be worth it to pick up a set of wrenches, screwdrivers, etc from Harbor Freight. It's probably cheaper than shipping stuff from Israel and back, and if you need something extra, you can borrow from other teams.

I saw this from a Turkish team at the WI Regional:

They took one side of the crate (Top?), and screwed wheels onto the bottom. Attach a strap or a handle, and you are good to go.

In the past, I am told that other teams have used their crate as part of the pit setup. I don't have pictures but I imagine it is similar. The 6 sides can be screwed into tables/shelves, etc.

Make a list of the major tools you will need, and when you know which field you are on, post the information. Then other teams near you can let you know what they can loan you.

Do you get the robot shipped for free (FedEx Donation)?

Can the crate weigh up to 400 pounds? You can pack a lot of tools into the crate with your robot. Just make sure they are tied down and don't damage your robot.

Thanks for the tips! We are borrowing a cart and most of the things we need from another team, but we need batteries. If there is any team that is coming to champs and have a 2016 battery(or batteries) they can lend us we will be eternally grateful!

First has some batteries for International Teams. Make sure you e-mail First and let them know. I think they loan you 2, so having access to more from other teams is good
