Are any of these teams declining their invitations?

190 will be declining their invitation, and will not be bringing their robot to the 2016 nedcmp. We will be there for engineering inspiration, and we'll come hang out on Saturday.

I can understand your position. Finalists today in New Jersey. 190 must be exhausted.
As a legacy team, your ticket is punched for the CMP. As usual, your team and Robot deserve to go.
Good luck with the EI at the NEDCMP.
You will be opening up a spot for another team, and that is a good thing.

Just FYI, if the above is now the case, then the "Welcome Packet" on the NEFIRST site should probably be updated accordingly. As of this time (the 3/30/16 revision of the welcome packet), section 5 on "Trailer Parking" contains a sentence reading, "Teams will have access to the trailers during the event but cannot use them as a work space."

The latest (full) version of the welcome packet has now been posted to the NE FIRST website. Unfortunately the restriction had to be put into place after meeting with the venue staff for our final walk-through. Still, for some teams who empty their trailers, it may be better to park your trailers indoors for the event rather than try and find downtown outdoor parking each day that will accommodate a tow vehicle AND a trailer.

I've got a hotel room in the Hilton next to the XL center that has a spare bed for Thursday and Friday nights, if any (male) mentor still needs a spot and wants to go halvsies ($123 gets you both nights). PM me here if you are interested.

Thanks for updating the Welcome Packet.

We'll plan to keep our extra needed stuff somewhere other than in the trailer!

UPDATE FOR WEDNESDAY CONCESSIONS ONLY:
Heads up to teams - on Wednesday (Day 0) the XL Center concessions will NOT be open so teams can bring in any food or beverages they would like on Wednesday evening.

REMEMBER: This is ONLY for Wednesday evening! The rest of the weekend NO outside food will be allowed.

There are also plenty of places to eat nearby so take a look and make reservations/plans/etc! See you soon!

Previous versions of the packet stated that 5 team members were allowed during load in. Is this now changed to any number of team members?

Yes, teams can bring more than 5 people to load-in and pit setup. An update with changes to the Welcome Packet will be posted to the NE FIRST website today!

Why the DQ of alliance 3 in the semi at district champs? I saw the, uh, shocking score, but didn't see the match in the webcast.

It's been emotional!

I want to immediately acknowledge Mechanical Mayhem as perhaps the finest collection of students and mentors I know of. 1519: I have never heard an unkind word from them nor about them. I am happy that you guys leave with not just a Chairman's but the world-high-score record. Congratulations to Mayhem, Aces, and Gaelhawks--and I hope that score lasts!

And wishes do come true! After years of being against the Cyberknights in eliminations, we finally get to play with them! The results are as expected! High fives to Gino (195) and to Brando (125), and your ability to see us way down in the rankings. Always a pleasure battling with you. So much better than battling against you!

So many thanks and good wishes to all the teams and all of the volunteers and all of the staff of FIRST in New England. It was an intense field of competition in Hartford. Any of the 8 alliances formed would have been winners at most regional competitions. That statement is not scientifically verified, but feels truthy enough!

I must publicly praise our young drive team who stepped up in the clutch of the final match. When 195 was stuck on a ball for half a minute, we thought it was all over. But instead of folding under pressure, they decided to hit perfect high shots, over and over. Austin and Eva, you were absolutely fantastic!
