Millenium teams
Rookies are starting to register, and I have heard of a few teams who already have numbers. So, it's true that FIRST is giving out 4 digit numbers.
That means there's gotta be a team 1000. Who are the lucky dogs with that number? Also... I'm curious who is going to be 1045. It might be a neat thing for a veteran team with a low team number to help mentor a "millenium team"... or the team with the same number as the veteran team + 1000. For instance, 1045 could be the millenium team for team 45. These two teams could keep in contact with each other and help could be given if a team would need it. Initially, the rookie team would be in need of assistance, but this relationship could grow over the years and both teams could benefit. Hey, they could be kinda like robot-building "pen pals". So... 1045... are you out there? Andy B. |
Great idea, Andy! :)
Team 1093 ... I wonder if the teams will go that highthis year. :D - Katie |
1810? how long do i have to wait for that... :p

They're registered for Cleveland. |
Hey Andy......1037 is here!
Hi Andy,
I have a rookie team this year from our new high school, Stoney Creek in Rochester Hills, MI. We are team #1037!!! I like the idea of "millenium" teams. The odd number means we get to go to Nationals!! WooHoo! Registration was really a nightmare today. I hope you all get the regional you want. Sue Krussell coach of brand new team 1037, the 16th team of Team Ford FIRST |
I think the millennium idea is cool, but it will never affect me since this is my senior year and i am on team 365!:(
|
Hey, there's a 1006 from Canada. I wonder if we'll ever see or hear from them...?
|
so is there a 1086 yet?
|
dibs on 1084!!!! :D
|
Can't wait for a 1173:cool: :D
|
I there is a 1037 i assume there is a 1025 so were is our millenium team
|
someone said that team 1000 is Valpo. From Indiana
|
TEAM 1045!
Hey,
Im from the Mission San Jose Robotics Team in Fremont, CA. We just registered for the Silicon Valley regional and were were given the team # 1045. So I guess that answers your question Andy B. It would be pretty cool to have a robot building "pen-pal".. |
Wow - that was quick! Less than a day :D
C'mon - there has to be 1093 out there ;) - Katie |
woohoo!
Alright! 1045! Welcome to FIRST, Manav and the rest of Mission San Jose Robotics. I look forward to keeping in touch... this is gonna be cool.
Andy B. |
AS OF 11:22 P.M. EST 1045 WAS THE HIGHEST TEAM NUMBER YET!!! Maybe by tommorrow there will be up to 1100?!?!?:)
|
As of whenver this is there is now a team1048
1047 is Woodbridge High School from Irvine,Ca |
Welcome Team 1048!
Good idea, Andy.
Welcome to the FIRST community, Team 48 + 1000: Team 1048 National Starch and Chemical Company & Manville High School Manville, NJ USA Good luck this upcoming season and feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Thanks, |
We'll probably have to wait until next season for team number 1234. (I'm not sure but I think the highest number is now team 1053).
|
So are there anymore "taboo" numbers that FIRST won't give out?? I think there isn't and there never will be a team 666 because of the whole implication between hell and satan and all that but are there any other "special numbers" out there they wont give out?? Come to think of it there is a team 69 but I don't recall a team 420????
Hmmmm...... Oh and BTW, Quote:
|
Go 1's
An Alliance of teams 1, 111 and 1111 would be cool.
Is there a team 11 - I think they disappeared a few years ago? |
Team 1056 HELCO & Waiakea High School
Hilo, HI USA Registered for Pacific Northwest regional |
Quote:
I bet we have some time until there is a 1783 tho...lol Hopefully soon! ...and actually there are quite a few 1000+ teams from Canada - just check out the sign-up for the Canadian Regional. |
Raul- Team 11 BASF/Novartis & Mt. Olive HS out of Flanders, NJ- I think we were their alliance partners in Jersey.
And does anyone know if there's a team 1088 yet? I haven't had time to check. |
1057 is the current number.
I think it would be really weird if you started and mentored a team and when they went to register they became team (your number here)+1000. But we probably wont see a 1173 till next year or the year after.:( :( |
/me is silently waiting for team #56,169!!! 237x237!!!
/me thinks I'll be waiting more than another year for that one! |
Were Up to 1063
Only 110 teams more till RAGE's millenium team:D |
Team 1064 Who Are You?
Team 1064, if you need any support Team 64, The Gila Monsters, would love to be your big brother/sister and help you any way we can.
Let us know who and how to contact you - welcome to FIRST, its unbelievable. ;) |
Team 1064
We had a different post, but we changed it when we realized the Gila Monsters were on the web at the same time, trying to figure out who their millennium team would be while we were signing up and trying to do the same thing.
We were hoping for 1171 or 1071 or 1111 to be with our parents from 111 or 71, but hopefully the Gila Monsters will be good family for us. You can e-mail either one of us at halatekl@msoe.edu or kolodzik@msoe.edu. Lauren (former Wildstanger) and Kevin (former Team Hammondite) (but now we are Milwaukeans - not official name!) PS We are looking for suggestions for a team name. |
Re: Millenium teams
Is team 1040 out there yet????
Jill from Team #40:D |
We are now up to ...
1065 Disney & Techincal Education Center Osceola & Osceola Public High School Kissimmee, FL USA - registered for the Orlando regional.
:D - Katie 28 more teams til we hit 1093 ... |
I think it will also be a while before we see 1343 but what about an alliance of 7, 49 and 343 (7^1, 7^2 and 7^3). Can't wait for 2401 (7^4)!
Are there other teams out there that are powers of prime numbers? Just havin fun with numbers! Gene :) |
Just in case they've found there way here, Team 330 would like to contact teams 1012, 1025, and 1047. We would like to welcome you to the FIRST community and offer our assistance.
While I realize that 1047 is ChiefDelphi's Millenium team, we're a lot closer and can probably be more help with hardware issues. Sometimes you just have to SEE a problem to help work it out. As far as I know, none of these teams has a working website that actually provides contact info. I'm not the FIRST contact for our team so I don't have access to the TIMS, which may or may not provide this information for other teams. Our contact person is supposed to check this out but has not gotten back to me. If you know anything about these teams please PM or e-mail me. Thanks, ChrisH |
/me is glad there won't be a team 1263 till next year.
hopefully....but you never know, you saw how many new teams signed up last year, so we'll see what happens |
Well were up to 1066.
|
Does anyone know if there is a Team #15??? Where we can find them?
We're 1015, and are looking for them. - Keith |
He** MI has a High School
Quote:
To learn about the place, see: http://www.hell2u.com Use the "Go To [there]" link to see a map of the area. :) The High School makes a BIG deal out of the name, and have a LOT of fun with it. (I think their "mascot" name is "The Devils".) If they EVER form a FIRST team, *I* vote they be given team #666. IMHO they're ENTITLED to it! Boy, I'd LOVE to see that school show up at a FIRST competition! I'll bet their swap items will be the "hottest" thing there! :D |
are their any rookie teams from long island here? i know we have team 1019 signed up for our regional.

How to find teams and their members on CDF by team number
Quote:
It will be sorted by team number. You can next find any team member that's registered on CDF by hitting the [member] link to the right of their team number. BTW... You CAN sort by Team Name as well, but there's an awful lot of blank Team Names! Every team should send in their Team Name to Brandon to add to the database for that display, so we can then search by that. There's a link at the top of the page for updating your team's information. - Keith |
Looking for team 1061. I think we can help you in many ways
waitting for a reply |
Team 1011 is:
The University of Arizona and Tucson High Magnet School We may be adding another high school, and of course we are looking for a corporate sponsor as well. I did my homework Dean =) |
WOW!
1011 base 2 is 11 base 10 and team 1011 is team 11s' millennium team. And, this year 2003 minus 1011 base 8 is 1492, the year Columbus discovered the new world, just as Tucson is discovering a new world with team 1011. And, 2003 minus 1011 base 11 divided by 1011 base 2 is 60, Kingman! And, 2 * (2003 -1011) / 1011 base 3 is 64!! Do the coincidences ever end??!!?!?!!??!

This year, they're limiting registrations to "one Regional only" for the first month, just to let everyone have the chance to be in at least one Regional. But, on November 3rd, the registration floodgates open and teams may sign up for additional regionals. So... If you haven't snagged an RSVP by then, you may find yourselves locked out of the contest altogether. Since the first payment doesn't have to be in until December 10th, there's no reason to wait to register. Therefore, if you haven't already, go here right away and start the process: - http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/rookie.htm Use the links to set first yourself up on the team management database, then immediately sign up for the regional you wish. Here's the list, and their fill status: - http://www.usfirst.org/frc/public/FM...s.htm&-findany Good luck, and come back here and tell us what team number you get so we can help you find your Millennium Team! :) - Keith |
One question
Ok.
I trust a lot of you veterans know the basics for the controls systems Operator Interface. You probably know that the LCD display is only 3 DIGITS LONG. How the heck are they going to do Team numbers for 4 digit teams. I realize that perhaps FIRST is organizing it so that one teams "millenium team" is as far away as possible, so they wont be at the same regional, so the could both use the same team number (i.e. 45 and 1045 both use a team number of 45). But what happens if they are both at the championships, 2 teams with the same team number means that they would control each others robots accidentally. I was wondering if anyone out there nows how FIRST is handling this. |
Re: One question

The only glitch is that when you enter a team number greater than 999, the DISPLAY shows "---", so it is difficult to verify the number is set correctly. The communications system is still working correctly. FIRST has said they have a fix for the display problem. I don't know what that is. I am hoping that if the new controller set isn't going to have another digit (or use/add an LED for the "1"), they'd at LEAST tweak the firmware to display the lower three digits when set to over Team 999 to help insure we flip the switches right. (That's what *I* would do if I worked for IFI.) If you wish to temporarily use your millennium team's number around the shop, that's your business. However, we'll have to use whatever number FIRST tells us to use at the competition site. Besides, NO ONE should be using a radio AT ALL in the pits. You are to use your umbilical there. Heck, there's no law that says we HAVE to set it to our Team Number! Remember, there are NEVER over 300 teams at ANY regional or Final. Therefore, even if we had a MILLION teams, if FIRST wishes, they could simply assign a "Regional Competitor Number" to everyone instead of a team number. After all, the ROBOTS don't care what number it is. They only need the RC and the OI switches to MATCH. IMHO, the reason they said to set it to your Team Number in the first place is that it was a simple rule (and besides, everyone loves to see their name in lights! :D ) - Keith |

Is there a team 1065 And if so, who are they?

How to find ALL Millenium Teams!
Quote:
Currently, the last team is: "1087 - Zephyr Engineering & West Salem HS, Salem, OR USA" BTW... Here's how to find ALL Millennium Teams! Use THIS link: - http://www.usfirst.org/frc/map/FMPro...-max=all&-find In essence, here's how I made the link: Jump to ANY Team List off of the Events page. In the resulting URL location, edit out the "&event=xx" section of it, and hit enter. This leaves an inquiry to the database for "all teams that are signed up in year 2003, regardless of Regional...". At the bottom of the list will be ALL Millennium Teams. The reason this works is that the last team number from 2002 just HAPPENED to be Team 999! Because you only GET a Team Number when you register for your first regional as a rookie, by DEFINITION (this year only) *ALL* Millennium teams WILL match as "signed up"!! :D BTW, save this link! This link will CONTINUE to generate all NEW Millenium Teams for the rest of the season, as they sign up! :D However, NEXT season it may fail, because any 2003 teams that don't register for 2004 won't show up. (But of course you can edit the year entry back to 2003 to find the missing entrants... :) ) I'm sure there's a proper FMPro inquiry to get a list of ALL teams, registered or not. I tried deleting the year tag entirely. I DID get the whole list, but with duplicate entries each team, one for every year a team EVER entered a contest... <chuckle> Believe me, it was a LONG list... :) The real downer though is that by this process, I found out there is NO Team 15! *WE* don't have a Millenium Team!!! :( Does anyone remember who Team 15 USED to be??? - Keith |
Hmm... I don't remember. They weren't in the program last year. 10 was Benilde St.-Margaret, 4 was the Minnetonka Millers I believe. I don't know a 15 though....

There is now a team 1090 from Lindbergh High School in St. Louis Missouri

Does anybody know if there is a Team 1025?
|
No there isnt according to the FIRST web site. That is odd they just skipped over 1025.
The two newest teams are: 1097 Jesuit H.S. Carmichael, CA USA 1098 Lafayette High School Wildwood, MO USA |
Since you didn't catch it, I won't tell you who it was. But a team inadvertently signed up twice under very slightly different names. They wound up being assigned two numbers. When they figured out what happened one of the number was dropped. That number was 1025.
I only found out because I'm trying to keep in touch with all of the teams in our area. ChrisH |
Team 1020 is The Indiana Academy for Arts, Science, and Humanities/Ball State University. I haven't heard of a Team # 20... and I don't remember seeing them at nats. Any clue?
Amanda Morrison Team# 1020 IAASH/Ball State ammorrison@bsu.edu |
i guess 2004 for team 1115!
or maybe not.... come and get us!!! |
I dun get it!

Someone already said Team 1025 was an accidental duplicate registration that was removed. I don't know if FIRST will reuse the number or not. Again... You can ask FIRST's database for ALL teams signed up for this year's contest with this link I fudged up: http://www.usfirst.org/frc/map/FMPro...-max=all&-find Since team 999 was the last team last year, and you get a number by entering a regional SOMEWHERE, by DEFINITION looking up "all teams signed up for 2003", gives you ALL of the MTs... :D This trick will keep working for the rest of this contest as new teams enter, so just bookmark it. Enjoy! - Keith |
