Triple Scale

I apologize if there is already a thread or post somewhere about this, but I'm curious to see if there has been a three robot scaling alliance yet this year.

Re: Triple Scale

The #3 alliance at Orlando was capable of having 3 scaling bots, though 79 and 1369 weren't as reliable as 1876, so I don't think all 3 of them ever got up. I have a picture of 2 of the robots scaling that I may edit in later.

Re: Triple Scale

Had a triple scale in Ventura, and one in L.A.

Before somebody pops up to correct me, I'll correct myself: both of those had a minimum of one "penalty scale" where somebody playing defense didn't play it smart and bail before the 20-second horn. The L.A. one had 3 non-scaling robots; Ventura had two scales and one penalty scale.

I haven't seen a true triple scale yet.

Qualification match 65 at RIDE had three scaling robots between two alliances. 2064 on blue and 1058 & 2836 on red. Final score was 92 to 89 with blue taking the win. That was a tough loss but seeing three robots up in a qualification match was very exciting.

If I saw the triple-penalty-scale happen in person I probably would have died.

Really hope you guys were able to bounce back (:

Triple scales on an alliance are going to be hard to see for a little longer. You are counting on a large enough pool of scalers at an event they end up grouped together unintentionally (qualifications) or intentionally (elims). You also have to count on all 3 of them working and fitting.

What about this triple in Ventura? Was 696 not above the line?

Not if you had to put it in. Defender hit all three robots in the last 20 seconds (on top of some miscellaneous other penalties from previously in the match). That one didn't take long to put in...

You can clearly see the bumpers being down. No good.

I think there was a match where one robot that didn't quite finish its scale was ruled to be up too early, strategic, which meant that they got a challenge anyways (it's hard to disable a robot within a couple of seconds).

QF6 (or QF 2-2 on TBA) which is the origin of the picture in question did not count for 45 scale points. QF2 (or QF 2-1 on TBA) reports 45 scale points but I don't have video or pictures, obviously...

I would probably never be able to volunteer as a referee because witnessing things like that would damage me. Heck, we won a match on a double hit penalty in elims this weekend and I still was pretty much caught up in the absurdity.
