HELP DNS Server HELP

My domain name is registered through www.powerpipe.com. I logged in to modify my registration info and accidentally changed the name servers from our hosting place's to the registration place's. Once, I realized the site was no longer working, I put everything back the way it was. It's been like 4 days since I put everything back and the site still doesn't work. Do I need to contact the hosting place and tell them what I did?

I'd log back in to your dns settings page, see if its still set to what you want it to be.

Give it another day or two, and then contact them. DNS changes usually take 2-9 days to propogate.

Thanks a lot. I know it's set to what I want. I guess I'll just wait it out until I go nuts.

My Changes usually happen by day 3 somtimes 4- Ive never seen it take longer. But it may be the way their server is setup.

It's been 7 or 8 days and still it doesn't work. My friend has an internet connection through the same place that hosts the site and he can access the site fine so I know the hosting account is still there. This must be because his connection is through the same namesrver the site is on. I don't know much about how this suff works so someone please help. When I do the www.network-tools.com advanced NS lookup, what does the "days to live" mean?

I'd contact your host, or the place you registered your domain name through, and get it all straightened out by talking to someone in the support dept.
It shouldn't have taken this long.

Turns out our hosting place deleted the nameserver info from our account just about the same time I was playing around with it in my domain registration control panel.

Time to get some real hosting.
