FRC1477: Looking for Analog Device

Hi Everyone!

FRC1477 unfortunately had an issue last night and our gyro broke. We’re using the Analog Devices Gyro from First Choice, found here:

http://firstchoicebyandymark.com/fc16-000

We can’t find any suppliers openly selling this gyro other than FIRST Choice, and desperately need a replacement for Lone Star this weekend.

If anyone can help, please let us know!

Have you tried to contact Analog Devices directly? Or even AndyMark?

I would also try FRC2655, I know they have a few Analog Devices Engineers working for them.

I probably I have for you guys, but I have to find it. I know we got one with our second FIRST choice order, I just don't know precisely where it is. Lucia's fairly sure it's with our regional stuff, since she packed up nearly everything in the garage. Unfortunately, I can't have them confirm that until they unload tonight, since all that stuff is at the front of the UHaul, with 30 boxes of regional stuff in the way. If it's not with the regional stuff, it's in the garage, and I'll have to swing by there on the way in tomorrow morning to help look for it.

By all means keep looking for someone more organized than me, though.

Spectrum has one you can have, we'll be at load in tonight or come by our pit tomorrow morning.

While we were very grateful for this sensor donation through FIRST Choice, we too were disappointed that it seemed to be difficult to locate spares. We were not able to find any to buy - therefore, we went with the navX for our gyro.

I found our unused Gyro and will also bring it to competition tomorrow in case you need it.

Analog Devices makes an evaluation board for that same gyro IC. The pin-out is different and needs some adapation, bit it is known to work on our robot. The part number is:

EVAL-ADXRS450Z

We purchased ours with our DigiKey voucher (and a few bucks more).

Thank you to teams 57 and 3847 for giving us the sensors we needed this weekend. In addition, thank you to team 4587 for offering their sensor as well. 1477 appreciates the help and hopes we can return the favor soon.

Thanks, I'll check it out!
