We predict the number to qualify will be around 130-135

Does that take into account the fact that points are tripled at championships?

Yes. Point distribution can change this though. I'd say this is the lowest it would be. The highest I see it being is about 145-150; but anything can happen.

Also, take a look at some of last year's numbers from other districts. Not a direct correlation, but should provide an idea of what to expect.

Good to look at PNW, especially. I'd say that anyone in the top 30 right now who is a captain or first pick is probably in, as that's at least a 70 point boost.

Nice bench grinder. Can it shoot from anywhere that is protected?

I think we should make a trophy for scoring from the neutral zone in a practice match....

Wow looks like a full district championship for this weekend cant wait to see all the team and all their modifications. Surprised 2849 and 4638 wasn't mentioned in the boulder scoring. It will be a very cheesy elimination selection and playoff rounds. Is their any surprise dark horses that haven't been mentioned

422 has been a sleeper bot all season. They made it to semis at both of their District events and had an unfortunate loss in the finals of the UNC Asheville District event. Plus, I've heard great things about their ability to do the ramparts. I'd be very surprised if we didn't see them in elims.

We have these bright orange balls for our practice stuff. We plan to preserve one for demos, but otherwise we may use them at IROC as "fiery" boulders that give the opponents a tech foul when scored. Still hashing out the details to keep things balanced within the region though.

1829 and 5804 should surprise some people.

Really sucks that 3072 couldn't gather the money to make it to the DCMP. Our suspension made us a really good breaching bot. Too bad bumper rules got us and shut down our high goal shooter, or I think we would've done a lot better at Portsmouth. No doubt, we would've been a really good 2nd pick. We could do every defense, except C class from the neutral zone, then we could play defense. Good luck to all the teams going. I'll be watching the stream.

PS: if 1731 and 1086 join up, they might beat 2771, 3357, and 4409's match score record.

I would have loved to see you guys there, you were a very consistent robot, and your best year since 2013. Congrats on a good year anyway, I hope you guys make it next year.

Regarding the potential for a 1731-1086 team-up: with the right third robot, it's possible, but I'd be shocked if someone wasn't playing hard defense against these two. Fresta Valley had to hang tough against 540 and 346 at Blacksburg and still did well, but 1086 has gone relatively undefended, especially in Doswell. I think both will do well, but I doubt we'll see them together in elims.
