A 2-ball Auto will win championships. I'm calling it now.

2 2-ball autos will beat the 1 2-ball auto at championships.:)

I wonder what 359 is working on right now. Sounds like you are going for a non-low bar 2 ball auto.

Doesn't count until it's done it a qual match. Who does it for real first? 254, 987? Or maybe 971, who has been criminally close to making it a few times now.

Impressive ! I wonder how many will have it down by Championships and if anyone will figure out a 2-ball not using low bar

Best defense I could see this working for is the Rock Wall.

Eh... if a robot can keep itself straight going over the rough terrain, I'd argue that would be easier. Just because of the amount of time it would take to go over the rock wall and wait until the robot stops bouncing around.

Might take a little change in geometry (or an additional manipulator) but I think that portcullis might be easier, since it's a somewhat smoother transition.

It took me waaay too long to figure out that 254 is in blue. I watched 971 in red like 4 times trying to figure out what I was missing.

Agreed. I'm seen a lot of teams just drive into the portcullis in auto like it wasn't even there. With the right field setup, it's totally feasible to see two 2-ball autos.

Re: First 2 Ball Auto in Match 987

Great job on this outstanding accomplishment, but there is one thing that doesn't follow the game manual. Inside of rule 3.1.3 it says:
Quote:

Once a ROBOT CROSSES a DEFENSE in AUTO, any additional REACHES or CROSSES by
that ROBOT during the AUTO period will not decrease DEFENSE STRENGTH nor contribute points to the ALLIANCE.
There are videos where you can definitely see the defense be "damaged." This gives them a 40 point auto if they make both boulders which is amazing, but could really change the play and the outcome of the match, especially towards the end of a regional when one or two points decide the blue banner from the finalists. In this close up video https://t.co/A7wnExCvOp they get credited for crossing the low bar twice. Thanks, and congrats again.

It was a practice match, the ref was probably just having some fun.

Oddly enough, and rather than the "cha-ching" from the tower chains we kept hearing in our ears when 971 & 1678 were raining shots on us like Klay Thompson & Steph Curry in Sacramento, for 254's 2-ball auto and a separate practice match with (at least) 17 made high goal shots (no defense) I saw today with me bare eyes, the sound was more of a high-pitched robo-soprano warning sound followed by a "poof, poof, poof..." of boulders disappearing into a castle tower somewhere deep in the lands of Strongholdia.
