PC, Video Games
Does anyone on this site play PC or Video games? If so, what category/categories and which system(s) do you have? For me, I like to play any strategy, or action based games. By looking at the logo I have, you should be able to tell that I like playing on the GC.
|
GCN all the way.
Super Mario Sunshine all the way! Also, I'm looking forward to RCT2 for the PC. |
Both, PC and CG
for GameCube my favs are NCAA Football 2003 and NASCAR Thunder 2003 for PC my favs are Conflict Desert Storm, GTA3, Operation Flashpoint (w/ resistance addon), Swat 3 (soon to be 4), Black Hawk Down (not out yet)...anyone see a trend? :D |
Cool, never thought anyone else but me played video games!!! lol. For me, my favorite game would have to be XG3 Racing (Extreme G3 Racing). The best racing game ever made!!! On my opinion that is. For the PC, I like Westwood Studios Emperor - Battle For Dune. Their first RTS game ever made.

No it doesn't!
*stamps feet up and down* If you're satisfied by poor graphics and a controller built for a 3-year old, fine. ;) |
PC - Deus Ex, GTA3, UT, Rogue Spear, BG2, Halo (if it ever comes out)
PS - FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX (see a trend?) XBOX - Halo (my friend's) |
Anything were you can run around and kill stuff is good for me.
Quake 3, Unreal 2k3 (demo untill I can find money), Diablo 2, NWN (uninstalled it...using up precious space and Bioware is really working slowly on those linux binaries), tuxracer :P, Worm anything (I have the latest 3...all fun!) I also like racing games, but the ones I have, I've beaten multiple times...I must say, they get old. All played on PC. P3 1ghz (*shudder*), 32mb NVidia Geforce2 mx (it was nice until unreal 2k3 came out :P) Out of hard drive space though, 2000 mp3s puts a bit of a dent in a 20gb hard drive (not to mention my 5 gigs for linux). Soon, I'll be investing in an 80gb hdd and an ATA 100 controller, so I'll be all happy. |
Super Smash brothers is cool, halflife, Starcraft, Fallout1(2), Warcraft, UO, and the most important of them all Medievia the best mudd i have ever played. I totally recomend this for any serious gamer. (P.S. MUDDS are not for every one but they should be)

Oh and Icewind Dale.
|
PS2- Right now I have all my time devoted to Stuntman Its a really good game but frustrating sometimes but good.

I really liked Deus Ex - it is a great game that plays more like a movie or a book than a video game. A lot of depth.
I also played the Baldur's Gate games - I liked the first one the best. I also played Thief - that was a great game with a lot of atmostphere. System Shock 2 was the scariest game I ever played - if you have'nt played any of these, go and buy Deus Ex, Thief Gold, and System Shock 2....they are awesome. I mean, come on - Deus Ex opens up with you fighting your way into the ruins of the Statue of Liberty - a chilling symbol of the world you are about to enter... I also play Day of Defeat (a mod for Half-Life based on WW2) I am in a clan (if you don't know, don't ask:p ) We are enrolled in several tourneys, and currently lead the Silver Ladder in the STA 7 on 7 tournament. (Feel the Pride:D ) All of these are for PC, by the way. I have never and will never own a console. --BEN |
Man, I started this thread and now look at it! Lots of posts. lol. I wasn't even here for two days too.

Thief was a great game but it was soo dang hard it leveled on impossible!

Another game that plays more like a movie would have to be Metal Gear Solid. Quite the game of quality, in my opinion. The sequel, on the other hand, left much to be desired. Perhaps it was how much I expected of MGS2 that left me wanting something more, but I thought the game drew too little a distinction between game and movie. Every 6 feet you walk, it seemed, another cutscene would trigger, some of which were five minutes long (so far as I can remember, it's been a while). Other than that, I have nothing to say... :) |
yeah, MGS2 was a little like that, but it definitely had mroe playability than the 1st one. MGS2 took like 6 hours while you could tackle the first one in 3. MGS2 got a little ridiculous near the end but there are some parts which I think are just awesome, like the part where the colonel goes weird and tells you to shut off the PS2. As far as game play goes, I felt that MGS2 definitely improved on the engine of the original.

Those puzzles towards the end...the action fun. What a great SNES game. Others include--Zelda: Link to the Past, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country...and so many more! SNES rules. MGS2 is a masterpiece. GTAIII is awesome. 4-player Goldeneye is still more fun than YES, EVEN HALO!! It's so good. (Though Halo 10+ players must be incredible) Mario Tennis is still great as well. Super Smash Brothers Melee is the best 4player multiplayer game ever created by far and is so good I can hardly contain myself. My friends come over and just play it for hours...since the original one came out. I have a classic NES, for games like Super Mario Brothers and Contra and BUBBLE BOBBLE! My favorite RPG is Earthbound by far, then FFX. On PC, Red Alert 2 is amazing, and Counterstrike is pretty cool. Shenmue is also wonderful on DC....oh and Blitz games are great!!! I highly recommend ALL of these games. And anyone who hasn't played them and claims to like video games is seriously deprived and should do anything to get their hands on them. Forgive me my enthusiastic opinions, but all I have said here is not even. It is fact. Truth. Any debates would be...inconceivable! Quote: (You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means) |
