I wish we could be inconsistent enough to seed 1st in two regional events and be the first selection in the other one. Oh and then go on to win all three events.

Ontario is always a really competitive region. Based on RCA, EI and Regional Finalists and Winners, here are my Top 5:
  • 1241 (Chairman's, Engineering Inspiration, 2 x Regional Winner, 1 x Regional Finalist)
  • 2056 (Chairman's, 2 x Regional Winner, 1 x Regional Finalist)
  • 1305 (Chairman's, Engineering Inspiration, 1 x Regional Finalist)
  • 1325 (Engineering Inspiration, 1 x Regional Finalist)
  • 1114 (Hall of Fame, 2 x Regional Finalist)
Honourable mentions: 610, 1310, 4001

Upstate NY (TVR / FLR):

1. 5254
2. 20
3. 3015
4. 3044
5. 1511

I'm excluding 2791 from an explicit rank because it's my own team, but I very confidently believe that I could put 2791 in the top 5.

I feel like 360 should be on the top five for Washington simply because of their performance at District Champs, but the teams that you did list are all pretty deserving. 1540 does need a bit more love, though; I think a case for them being top-5 in the region is fair. If they scaled, they would be top-2.

Ontario is crazy strong this year, and we are sending a ton of great teams to worlds. I don't think it's fair to just do 5.
  1. 2056
  2. 1241
  3. 1114
  4. 3683
  5. 610
  6. 4678
  7. 4039
  8. 1305
  9. 2013
And there are still teams I'm missing. All these teams have legitimate chances to see Einstein as alliance captains or first picks.

I'm calling it now - 2 Ontario teams on the world champion alliance!

Re: Top 5 Teams In Your State/Area before CHAMPS

For North Carolina:
  • 3506 -- Winner of the North Carolina District Championship and the Guilford District. No team has more blue banners this season as of the time of writing.
  • 2642 -- Knocked out of the quarterfinals in the North Carolina due to a bad case of Murphy's Law on their alliance, but one of the top teams in the state nonetheless. They finished the qualification matches in North Carolina with a five match winning streak which included captures in their final three matches. Earlier in the season, they won the Wake County District with excellent shooting.
  • 1533 -- First pick and eventual winner at the North Carolina District Championship. Struggled with mechanical problems early, but they started working consistently before winning the Campbell District. Triple Strange has been either the alliance captain or the first pick at three events.
  • 4561 -- Likely the most consistent shooter in North Carolina. TerrorBytes did not come out of the gate shooting from the defenses, but their robot has improved immensely over the last few weeks.
  • 5518 -- Not the flashiest robot, but Techno Wolves have a great grip on strategy and were able to pull off some huge upsets on their way to reaching the NC District Championship finals.

There are several great teams from North Carolina which did not qualify for Championships, but I thought it would be more useful to only include those teams which well be competing in St. Louis.

My reasoning in not including 360 is that it took them quite a while - until DCMP - to find their groove (they only had 59 District ranking points and barely qualified for DCMP). all of the other teams on my WA list won at least one other event before DCMP, and most were finalists at another.

My only impression of 1540 was at DCMP (I didn't watch any of their other events), so my view of them might be a bit limited because of that
