Driver Station Transparent HUD display?
Hi,
Looking at some new cars, you see that they have HUD displays that show things like MPH and directions onto your windshield. I was thinking this would be very cool to make a larger version for our driver station that could display pneumatic pressure, whether there is a boulder in the robot, etc. The problem is, I can't find too much information on how to make one yourself. I obviously know you need a projector of some sort, but how big and how bright? What do I need to use for projecting the image onto? Is there a special film that is needed so the image comes in clearly? Thanks! |
Re: Driver Station Transparent HUD display?
Are you wanting to do this on the glass of the driver station? If so you would need to find a way to make sure you can power it first (giving up that plug for the computer to the projector) and finding a projector with a wide angle to make it fit.
You also could just overlay it on a camerafeed on the monitor of the driver station computer, which would make a lot more sense. |
Re: Driver Station Transparent HUD display?
There was a team last year that did something along these lines. You might be able to find some information in this thread about it.
