FRC Team 4571 is interested in hosting a RoboProm for New York City FIRST teams.The main goal of this event would be to bring various FRC teams from our area together because we only see one another once a year. If this event were to be held it would take place at Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics.(116 St. and Pleasant Ave) and most likely in June. We are looking at charging 10 dollars a person and charging for snacks. Please comment if you or your team would be interested in coming to this event. If we do not get enough support from this idea we will not look farther into hosting this event.

I'd be careful about the name, it seems 399 has trademarked RoboProm.

I would be interested in a good meetup of lower NY teams but probably would not have our team participate in this sort of format.

NYC sorta has an offseason event now with HVR (Yes I know Yonkers is not technically NYC) so that is definitely a place to meet up. Also quite a few teams get together at the World Makerfaire every year.

Woah didn't know they trademarked it. Does this mean we have to change the name?

If you're selling relevant merchandise, you definitely would.

You could call it RobotProm, or BotProm, etc.
