Vanity Bumpers

Announcing team 1339's new fuzzy vanity bumpers! These fuzzy bumpers (A Robot Thneed) are inspired by our pit's truffula trees. (For show only)

Not very often in I can say I've never seen nor thought about this before.

R21-D. Good thing they're just for show. Those bumpers are really cool. The cloth does not look rugged or smooth.

Like the previous poster, I would not have thought of doing this.

Depending on how fast they are to put on / take off, I really want to hear watch a video about how getting inspected with them would go. They are currently registered for Champs...

LOL.
I think big Al would be wondering "Does this come in Tie-dye?"

In twelve years of robotting, this is my favorite thing we have ever done. Can't wait to go through inspection with them! I will make sure to take a video for y'all.

Please please please go through inspection with these hidden in the pit, and pull them out for bumper measuring, and watch the inspector's reaction.

"They passed at our previous events."

There are so many times when I think this. But at least it keeps us in check.

If they made blue bumpers, would they be cookie monster fur?

Truffula trees don't come in blue.

I think those are actually reversible bumpers...

Seconded.

Re: Vanity Bumpers

When I was a senior on my old team, we asked a few sophomores make a black set of bumpers in 2010 (the first year it was required to have red/blue bumpers). After they were done, we thanked them for the "pit display bumpers" and told them we needed the red and blue ones.

Yes. Grover would not provide enough for a full set of bumpers.

Those are great. When I was walking into North Star Friday morning I was treated to the pajamas 2175 has for their robot.

There could be genetically modified Truffula trees that are blue.

They are quite smooth, it feels great to rub them on one's face. Rugged, maybe not so much.

For background, we chose not to theme our team around Stronghold this year, and instead went with Dr. Seuss as our theme. One of our team distinctives is that we have a lot of art and theater students, and our annual theme is a big part of what makes 1339 what it is. The team is proud of their Imagery awards!

So, the vanity bumpers match our pit. Be sure to stop by and enjoy our truffula trees at CMP. We have some unusual buttons to give away, as well, and you should look out for our drive team, dressed as the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, and Thing One and Thing Two.

Looking forward to our first ever trip to Championship!

Did someone say vanity bumpers?! My specialty!

While perusing the finest silks of our local Fabricville, we came across a wonderful treasure. There was no hesitation. We purchased a roll and promptly made a set of bumpers with it.

Team 296 presents to you the tastiest, most delectable robot collision inhibitors you have ever seen- the pancake bumpers.

Underneath them, you can see our boring, FIRST regulation bumpers. Oh well. I'll try to get some better pictures later.

Waffles would be better than pancakes, but hey, they're a step in the right direction. After all, they're "butter" than what I've seen in the past, some of them are just...wawful.

Those puns were so syruptitiously slipped in. I see 'em!

Do those bumpers come in a dice-shape? :p

GaryVoshol 20-04-2016 20:38

Re: Vanity Bumpers

You might have to use dice spots for the team numbers. I don't think fabric paint will work.
