Engineering School Building

So I was looking through a thread a couple of weeks ago, and I came across a post from someone which included a photo of an engineering building they had built at their school. Does someone know who that is or at least the photo? I want to show it off as part of a long-term vision plan that I want to pitch to my team. Thanks!

I don't remember the details of that post, but on a related point check into Kell Robotics design for a STEM space: Visit kellrobotics.org, look for 'the next big thing' and scroll down to topic #3 'STEM Gym'

At www.kellrobotics.org Just click on the Infographic on Objective #3 - STEM Gyms and you will see some examples.

Also, Katy ISD in Texas has built a multi-team support center. You can see it here.

Thanks for the links. These are some great building concepts, and I really like the Katy one (not so much the price tag). I have been playing with a few of my own designs in Revit just in case the school fairy comes to me with some splost dollars.

Do you have any guesses on the expected costs of each design, or did you guys only work up the designs in Revit as proof of concepts?

I would use an estimate of $150 per sq. Ft. In the Southeast U.S. plus FFE (furnishings fixtures and equipment) plus land.

If we could build the 10,000 sq. ft. facility I would budget 2.5M minimum. If you get serious you will need an A/E firm to tie the numbers down.

Our students do design work and we get some comments from a firm that is our A/E partner just so we dont propose anything insane.

The Katy project is the only real one done by a group in Texas. The others are very rough proposals use in policy meetings. I dont think we have any regional center concepts posted.
