254 has this habit of being in some of the most exciting matches ever. First on 2014 Einstein they stun the crowd with an amazing autonomous and now this. Probably the best team in FRC right now.

Does anyone know what caused the yellow card on semi finals match 3? I couldn't here the call from where I was sitting.

WOW! Who would have thought in Newton that the #7 seed alliance would take it? 4678 shouldn't have been left to such a late draft spot! Excellent matches by all the teams, and super exciting. Couldn't have asked for a better finals!

Those finals matches were full of bad luck for 1241 and 254. But 217 and 3476 look really dangerous anis my dark horse to win Einstein.

The 217-3467-4678-188 alliance faced the toughest playoff schedule of any of the Einstein alliances by far. There's no way they could haven beaten all of those powerhouse alliances solely on good luck. They knocked out SIX robots on Looking Forward's Top25! And I'm perfectly willing to believe that they can knock out some more. Far from being a dark horse, I'd say they're one of the favorites!

I think whatever Alliance made it out of Newton was probably going into Einstein with a target painted on their back since last Friday.

Before today, all four robots on the winning alliance had only one event win between them. Now they have a decent shot at winning on Einstein.

Bad luck? They lost. It's that simple. It's not like there were random number generators determining the scores.

217-3476-4678-188 beat the #1, #2, and #3 seeds in Newton. Clearly the #7 alliance just got lucky. What a shame. /s

Looking back at the matches, I think you are right. The ability for this alliance to cycle boulders very quickly and double hang is what makes them so good. They are now my favorites on Einstein. It is funny that the alliance with 2 tall bots is probably the best alliance on Einstein. Shout-out to 217 on returning to Einstein where they belong. I also would like to note that 3476 is a powerhouse, in just 6 years they have been to Einstein now 3 times.

I didn't say that the #7 alliance got lucky. I was just saying that 708 falling over in match 1 was bad luck for the #1 alliance. The #7 alliance deserves to be on Einstein. Before you guys jump to conclusions on what I said please read and understand what I wrote.

What was the reason for the DQ in the semi finals?

I have to say, I'm really impressed with 217. Going from being the second pick of the sixteenth seed in MSC to being the seventh seeded alliance captain that bests some of the greatest robots this year is not easy. Congrats to them, and to 3476, 4678, and 188! Well done!

Thank you very much, that means a lot. We had some rough tournaments at the start of the year but things finally came together for us on Newton. We had an absolutely fantastic alliance and finally managed to play near our best. It was a great feeling.

By our list (weighing things like average boulders, max boulders, hang points, and auto points, as well as driving ability/subjectivity) they were easily a top 8 pick at MSC if not higher. I firmly stand by what I've said to a few people in that they were one of the more slept on teams this year.

Watching them and the rest of their alliance play on Einstein and hang right there with an alliance that had as good a shot at a world championship, in my opinion, as anyone was very impressive.
