Happy to be on Hopper this year! Lots of good teams, it's going to be really competitive. Good luck to all of you!

The Cyborg Cats are looking forward to competing. I like seeing the two California powerhouses, 1678 and 971, and team 4256 will enjoy playing against and with all teams mentioned above.

Re: 2016 Hopper Subdivision

On a cursory glance, this division might look open and shut, with 1678, 148, and 971 all here, but that's not the case.

There are a ton of exceptional machines in here, like 4334, 4587, and 4967 that might fly under the radar of those not looking deeply.

Obviously there are more, but wow this division is deep. I'm gonna do a ton of analysis later, but it's crazy looking so far.

I'm biased but I would say this is a very balanced division. It has a very ideal makeup where it isn't super stacked or desolate.

Here's a quick eOPR sort using 4536's Hopper preview scouting data

Looks like it is pretty well balanced at first glance. Makes me pretty excited!

I love this quote so much and I'm not sure why. I would totally wear a shirt that had that quote (with the year).

Great job, but don't expect every match to be that perfect. Defense, Boulder placement, and two alliance members being in your way can make it really hard to be that consistent. Not to mention your alliance members failing to breach for you.

Pretty impressive. What's the most you have made with 5 other robots on the field and defense slamming on you?

I see that Bovine Intervention does not play with or against the Holy Cows. We all know who has the bigger and best bells. GO! 686. I like my milk chocolate. Amen.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Of the 20 teams plus or minus five. That used a sledge hammer in 2014 game. Bovine Intervention is the only team using it also this year. God Bless

Re: 2016 Hopper Subdivision

Congratulations to 1678 on 4 Einstein appearances in a row, to 148 on 3 in the past 4 years, and to 364 and 2990 on their first!

Thank you to 971, 1323, and 193 for selecting us despite our constant technical problems throughout championships! It's unfortunate that our battery went bad in our first quarterfinal, but 193 played some awesome defense throughout in our stead, and a few unfortunate bumper malfunctions may have cost this incredible alliance a chance at not only a divisional banner, but also a World Championship.

Awesome job to all the teams on Hopper for incredible matches throughout!

Let's bring Hopper a World Championship!

Re: 2016 Hopper Subdivision

Thanks to all the great teams that played so hard in the Hopper subdivision. Some of the teams that caught our attention for being consistent high goal shooters include 4334, 1323, 4967, 294, 869, 1538 and 4587.

A special shout out to the no. 2 seed alliance of 971, 1323, 193 and 5254 who gave us some very strong opposition in the finals. Our great friends from California (971 and 1323) build consistently good robots and, in my very humble opinion, 971 (when performing at it's peak) was the best robot at champs this year.

Thank you 148 for believing in us and helping us form an Einstein worthy alliance. It was great to reunite with one of the greatest teams in first after going to the semis of Einstein with you in 2013. Your team is quality from top to bottom and it was an honor to go deep into the Einstein finals with you.

Managing to pick up both 364 and 2990 was unbelievable. You guys are both super teams to work with and played the third role on our alliance perfectly. Watching 364 feed balls to help us to the world high score (without penalties) of 270 was a joy. 2990 stepped in on Einstein and played stellar defense against the Newton and Carver alliances.

1678 had a blast at champs this year and playing with and against some of the best teams in FIRST made the experience all the better.

Re: 2016 Hopper Subdivision

Thank you 971 and 1323 for believing in us and picking us to swim with you into the finals!

971, 1323, and 5254 are best in class acts and it was a complete dream and pleasure to play alongside you during eliminations. It was absolutely inspiring for our group of freshman to work with your students and mentors and compete on such an epic level.

Had we thought our little bot would be going head-to-head with THE Robowrangers and Citrus Circuits into the finals at Worlds we would have welded those bumpers on! Unfortunately they seemed to have a holy hand grenade up their sleeves for our Rabbit! ::ouch::

Congrats to 148, 1678, 364 and 2990 it was fantastic to play with you guys and we hope to see you all next year! (PS We'll bring extra bumpers!)

Re: 2016 Hopper Subdivision

2016 Hopper was the most fun we have probably ever had at Champs. It was great fun to play with some of the top teams like 148 and 971 and see just how good they are as well as how chill the drive teams and coaches are.(probably for the last time in a really long time- #2Champs)

Just curious if anyone knows why our Hopper field seems to be the only field on the FirstRoboticsCompetition youtube channel that does not have elimination matches posted.
Does anyone have them recorded if FIRST doesn't have them? Would like to rewatch a few like 148/1678/364 270 pt match.

I've been hoping that they would upload all of the match video for Hopper. I'm waiting patiently, as I'm sure some team recorded all of the matches (if not, then I really hope STEMtv got Hopper..)
