Congratulations to one of the most inspirational teams in all of FIRST. Every member of your team that I've ever interacted with is a complete class act. I'm proud to consider you guys friends and even prouder to welcome you into the Hall of Fame.

Many thanks to all of the individuals and teams who have supported and congratulated us for earning a place in the HOF. Inspiration is a two way street and so many other teams (HOF and non HOF) have paved the way for us to join the HOF...and we are proud and honored to represent the ideals of FIRST on and off of the field.

I highly encourage anyone who hasn't interacted with 987 to do so ASAP. Their students and mentors are so down to earth and actually care so much about what they do. One of my favorite memories in FRC is hanging out with their mentors at IRI and getting to just sit with them and learn about what they do and the impact they have on their kids.

Best quality of their team - their Chairman's work isn't some sort of act. They don't produce BS like so many other teams do just for a trophy. They are the real deal and do what they do for the betterment of their community.

So happy to see you in the Hall of Fame!

To All of Our Friends on 987:

Congratulations! There was not a more deserving team in 2016.
I felt like I was watching my own kids celebrate, when we heard the announcement.
Enjoy your year and take some time to reach out to all of the alumni that positioned 987 for this award. One cool thing we did in 2010 was we invited all of our alumni to the team banquet to say thank you.

It was a very emotional night for the former students.
Its also a great message for your current students, to let them know that they are "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants".

Thanks for the advice! We were already planning our 15 year reunion for the fall, so this gives us something that we can all celebrate together. You're so right, though. I have been thinking a lot about how we could possibly thank and include the alumni.
