IRI Divisions - 2016
 

Due to the large number of strong applicants, plus a few that we would refer to as "not strong at all", The IRI is creating 2 divisions for the 2016 IRI.

The division are:

The CHAMPIONS DIVISION - Most applicants are in this category. This includes teams that actually competed in 2016, passed inspections, and have bumpers. These teams will play at Lawrence Central High School.

The HOME FURNISHINGS DIVISION - This includes applicants from the COUCH and LEISURE sub-divisions from St. Louis. These teams do not really need a field at all, so their matches will be played (observed?) (pondered?) at the Sears Home Furnishings store near Castleton Mall. No food will be provided, but there is a food court, movie theatre, and plenty of shopping carts for robot transport.

LOOKING FORWARD is completing the analysis of the HOME FURNISHING Division and will provide insight and predictions closer to the event date.

We expect to provide shuttle service for visitors who want to attend matches at both locations.

There seems to be some confusion on what the Couch division is.

It came about this year while some members of 2826 were at champs this year. While talking to teams in the pits we kept getting asked how we were doing. I would reply with the smart $@#$@#$@# reply that we were 1st place in the couch division as we were not competing. I would follow it up saying it was the toughest division as there were currently ~2500 teams in the division.

Tyler thought it was funny so he used it in awesome behind the bumpers interview with 1254 Teh Chez Cakes.

Yo Man,

Team 1254 finds the treatment of the couch division quite disrespectful!

I'm filing a union complaint.

We already have 2champs! No need for 2IRI!

But Couch Division will be best champs. Better then other IRI, or other champs.
