Mean Gene the Dancing Machine was the highlight of the 70's Show, The Gong Show. It was a stupid variety show where contestants came on and performed a talent act and if they sucked, the celebrity pannel hit the gong, if they survive they get scored by each of the 3 judges and the highest score wins. Mean Gene and Larry and his instruments were frequent performers in between acts. Gene was a stagehand and Larry was the producer Very amusing. Game Show network used to show this and I think they do yet again. I highly reccomend watching this if you ever get the chance
