FLL Camp Curriculum
Our team is planning to conduct FLL camps over the summer, as we have 10 members who have graduated from the FLL program. We plan to offer a beginners level camp and an advanced level camp. Our camps would run 2-3 hours for five days. Would you all have any suggestions for the curriculum we should cover within the camps? We are thinking topics robot design, sensor use, and basic and proportional line following.

Re: FLL Camp Curriculum
While not related to FLL, we are running VexIQ summer camps and using this guide from Vex.
I'm sure something like this, though maybe not as official, exists for Lego. -Mike |
Re: FLL Camp Curriculum
1902 has run FLL-style summer camps the past few years. Using Lego Mindstorms, the kids learn the basics of programming a robot and how to use sensors, and on the last day of the camp we have a small tournament the kids compete in. When the kids aren't working on their robots, we also do science experiments with them. We've detailed our entire process in our Exploding Science Resource Books, which are designed to help other teams replicate our camps or do something similar. I hope it's helpful to you :)

Re: FLL Camp Curriculum
Team 3928 has run two week LEGO Mindstorms camps for a couple years. We had an advanced and beginner class with different age groups. Our curriculum is available here under the heading "LEGO Mindstorms Robotics." We also have FLL related resources here. If you have any questions about how we ran them, feel free to ask. We would be glad to share more information if needed!

Re: FLL Camp Curriculum
Our team has run FLL camps for four years; this year we have 4 weeks of basic and 2 weeks of advanced FLL camps (all nearly full already - yay!, plus FTC and Arduino camps.) Shoot an email to teamvirusrobotics3547 at gmail and I can send you our outlines and such. We do 5 days of 6 hours, but you could just use the first part of it or abbreviate it in other ways. We do 16-18 students with 8 or 9 EV3 kits. The basic camps are more instructional and the advanced camps are project/competition-based.
