Re: Chezy Champs 2016

Chezy Champs is two days away! We're expecting 41 teams - team list and preliminary match schedule are on The Blue Alliance. A few more updates:

Robot Radios
We will only be supporting the Open-Mesh radios used during the 2016 season. If you don't have an Open-Mesh radio, please reach out to us as soon as possible.

Load-In
Load in will be on Friday from 6pm-9pm and on Saturday morning from 8am onward.

Event Map
A map of load-in locations is on the event website. The pit map has been posted here.

Pit Power & Batteries
As a reminder, power in the pits will be turned off each night. We recommend that you charge your batteries before coming to the event so that they start off fresh on Saturday morning. Field-side pits are unaffected.

As always, let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

That looks like a very well-thought-out competitor! I can't wait to see it in action tomorrow!

For anyone interested in some last minute predictions/stats:

Using the preliminary match schedule and some component OPR / averages calculations, I ran some match predictions, which I used to predict overall rankings.

The ranking predictions, match predictions, and data used are here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=176192934

It should allow you to manually change match results to update the rankings automatically, but I haven't fully tested it out.

Here's a visual representation of the effect the match schedule has on teams (green = predicted rank is higher than opr rank, red = opposite):

More details on my formulas:
- Winning alliances are predicted on the alliances' total OPR
- Auto points are predicted on the alliances' total auto OPR
- Capturing is predicted on the alliances' total boulder OPRs (auto low, auto high, teleop low, teleop high), with 10 as the cutoff. Challenging/scaling wasn't taken into account .
- Breaching is kind of messy and I think I messed up the calculations somewhere (but every alliance is predicted to breach anyway so it doesn't really matter), but I used 4 as the cutoff for breaching a defense, with an alliance needing 5 to guarantee a breach (since defenses are randomized)
- Teams are ranked with RPs as the 1st order sort and auto points as the 2nd

Good luck to everyone!

Rachel,

Your work is quite good.

Space Cookies at 22 might mean an alliance pick.

Looking forward to watching the webcast today while I grade papers, input grades, review IEP's, plan lessons, trim boxwoods, cut the grass...Rinse and repeat.

Qualification defense schedule is posted here. We will be using the same schedule that was sent to teams and is posted on the blue alliance.

Re: Chezy Champs 2016

So,

If I would like to watch this "webcast" full screen, any suggestions.

Blue Alliance does not allow it.

Seems like web compatibility is a problem for everyone.
