Attention L.A. Area Teams! Unique Cooler Master Opportunity
 

Everyone, we are planning a private event at our North America HQ in Chino, CA. It will take place in early July and is invitation only for industry/media members.

After the event is over I thought it would be cool to see what kind of interest the robotics teams had in attending a walk through and focus group session before we packed everything up. You would get to see first hand some products that are in development and give feedback on Cooler Master as a brand.

Right now, we would like to gauge interest, so if you or your team wants to attend please post the number of people you think would want to come to something like this. It will most likely take place on a Friday afternoon after school.


Also, next Tuesday in our online store we will post a special item for sale. I won't tell you what it is but you have to be local to purchase it and it will be a one time thing. All I can say is that it will go up in the morning and the last time we did this it was bought in about 5 minutes.

I believe the "local" part was only in regards to the event they're hosting. If I understand correctly, anyone from anywhere can buy items off of their website.

All items sold out in less than 3 minutes. Congrats to everyone that was able to get in on time. We will be doing this from time to time so check the store periodically. We also usually post it on our twitter/fb.

It is so good that you are trying to gain information through surveys and competitions. Your special product sales show that you are wanting to help teams, but in my opinion your posts seem to be becoming more like advertising for Cooler Master Products than anything.

It's very common for PC component manufacturers to have forum representatives like CMBrandon. They're much more common on actual computing forums, but what CMBrandon posts isn't outside the realm of what's normal for forum reps to post.

I'm in marketing, we talk about the products. A lot of what I learn on here goes right back into changing the way we do things. If we didn't care what you think, we wouldn't ask. We currently sponsor 5 teams, 4 in the U.S. and 1 in Europe, everything we have given them has been free of charge.

This is our first year with robotics and I think if you ask anyone on our teams they will tell you that we are probably their most involved sponsor. We visit the schools, go to the competitions, know most of the students by name, etc. Keep in mind, we never asked a single one of them to buy anything from us. Actually, we have team 4481 Team Rembrandts at our Computex booth in Taipei as we speak. We flew them and their robot out to showcase. We also commissioned a robot from team 599 Robodox that is in the booth as well. At the L.A. Regional we gave out close to $3000 in product, free. Do we sell stuff to the robotics teams, yes, but we invest about 20x that amount back into the programs.

Ya, when I saw the bot I was like WOAH, FRC is everywhere, wow :D. Oh the parachuting vr simulator is really cool BTW.
