Anyways...the WWII Boeing B-29 bomber that dropped the A-bomb on Hiroshima was named Enola Gay and the operative was called the Manhattan Engineer District, or more commonly... the Manhattan Project. The bomb was known as 'Little Boy' and it took 43 seconds to reach the ground after being released. It was aimed at the Aioi Bridge. Also, out of the 34 B-29's left, there is only 1 that is flyable. I happen to like WWII (well...not the war...but studying it, it's quite interesting...it's interesting to see how much of the equipment back then is still in use today (although much of the technology has been updated, of course)) |

Lincoln/Kennedy Facts!
Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960. The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters. Both were particularly concerned with civil rights. Both wives lost their children while living in the White House. Both Presidents were shot on Friday. Both were shot in the head. Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln. Both were assassinated by Southerners. Both were succeeded by Southerners. Both successors were named Johnson. Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908. John Wilkes Booth, who assasinated Lincoln was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy was born in 1939. Both assassins were known by their three names. Both names comprise fifteen letters. Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse. Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater. Booth and Oswald were both assassinated before their trials. I left another set of facts out because of being inapropriate for the boards, if you really want to know IM me on aol or PM me... |

Also, there is one more fact that I am aware of..its not appropriate for posting, but quite amusing though |
Hehe, yep, one more fact..
Some amazing coincidences, if only they were true. John Wilkes Booth was born on May 10, 1838, while Lee Harver Oswald was born on August 19, 1939. John Wilkes Booth was captured in a barn, not a warehouse. John Wilkes Booth was not so much assassinated as killed during his capture. One last thing. The names of the secretaries are not likely to be accurate. This 'fact' was used because it is hard to disprove. |

Ok here's some more, The citrus soda 7-UP was created in 1929; "7" was selected because the original containers were 7 ounces. "UP" indicated the direction of the bubbles. Also, the barn is correct, BUT I remember that a union soldier set the barn on fire, and booth came towards the door as the barn was set on fire, then Sergeant Boston Corbett fired a shot and Booth was paralyzed. He was carried to the porch of the farmhouse and he died there on the porch. So he really was assinated per say |

There are a couple of sources that state that Lincoln never had a secretary named Kennedy, but I didn't think they were reliable enough to quote. This list has been around for eons, and if you strip out the untrue statements and half-truths, you're left with a number of pretty meaningless coincidences. |

The 'spot' on 7UP comes from its inventor who had red eyes. He was an albino.
Guinness Book of Records holds the record for being the book most often stolen from Public Libraries. When Neil Armstrong stepped on the surface of the moon in 1969, he didn't say what he's popularly believed to have said.
