This year's strategy
This year's strategy will be quite simple.
Using the custom circuit board to read the gyro into a PIC controller will then send directions for motor operation to the control system. This will allow for the building of a large 4 foot tall mechanical rat to ride around on top of a large model of Ginger/It/etc. The mechanical rat will then have a large swimming pool skimmer with which to grab the balls. This year's strategy is simple, amusing, and completes the task. We look forward to building it within 6 weeks. -smokescreen P.s.- maybe we should make it fly too. |
hoverbot
we will construt a bot that shall hover up and block the top of the goal while still being able to lock on to the 6 foor center shaft and manipouylate to the goal scoring area
dahl not enough sleep already |
How about a robot that flies and makes pizza (an actual suggestion by a member of my team last year)?
|
mmmmmmm pizza....
~John, who has been drawing robot designs into the night, and needs a snack |
We could build a walker similar to the AT-ST from Star Wars. Actually, with the gyro, it could be possible.
|
Why not the AT-AT?
It's got more firepower, this year is a fighting game afterall! |

but the rat!
Yes, yes, we could build an AT-ST or AT-AT or even IT, but we're missing the vital point!
To build a large, mechanical rat! With a Pool Skimmer! -smokescreen (who has been defeated by the bloody sheep and is currently being devoured by the killer rabbit in very loud 5.1 Dolby Digital sound) |
No offense, but
I think you guys need some serious sleep. You're starting to get a bit too "chatty." :)
|
the sheep are rebelling...
i must retaliate! lambchops are falling on my head... |
Seriously, lay off the No-Doze and Mountain Dew for a while and take a nap.
You are getting very sleepy.... ZZZZZZZZ :o |
Where's the fun in that?
|
Ya, good point. I survive on pop/soda. If this is this bad now, I can hardly wait till the last week...
aaaaaaaaaaaslkddddddddddddiiiiiiiioooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiioooooooooooooooooo oooooo....:o Ops, I fell asleep on my keyboard, must stay awake for Survivor.. |
Wait! Poprocks & Dew!
BTW: I'm going with Big Tom to take the $1,000,000. :p |

Alternative dynamical designs
I think that we must all back off this topic for a moment and take in the reality of the design mechanics of what you are suggesting.
First off, everying must be made of a nice resin fiberglass mesh. Once you have the first *MODE* formed, apply memory metal meshing, more for material management, to finish off the frame. After this is done, reheat and shape the molding and highly resined fiberglass mesh. This will hopefully make it plyable again. Rebend the memory metal while storing the data to a black box storage device. Re-do these steps until you have all the forms of the transformer you wish to develop. With the data in hand, its simple matter of applying the correct electrical currents to the molds to reform the proper shapes. thanks for your consideration, Tim Gauge *Note: apply ample amounts of bowling wax to the surfaces of the mold to ensure that the fiberglass resin does not adhere permanently to the base. A good time was had by all* |
Ethan won. I wanted Kim J...

Ethan was my second choice.

aww geez, not the bowling alley wax.
Good times, good times. -Smokescreen (currently looking for the stash of bowling alley wax) |

Beans, Beans, Good For The Heart...
Last night I finaly got more than 10 hours of sleep since Saturday. If this is bad, I don't want to know about the last week and the finals....

LOL!!!:D thats funny

I'm not even gonna look at that...
I have a good idea what it is by looking at the h-link. |
Trust me, you don't see Tom's butt crack.
It's him dancing. Go and see it! |
