Re: [FF]: Gauging Interest in Fantasy FiM

Not planning to play this one, but I'd like to suggest that any Fantasy FIM threads (that aren't this one) be tagged with something. I've asked the Season Long league to use [SLFF]; thought I saw someone suggest FFIM as a shorthand here.

Just trying to make it a little easier to determine which league is talking when Season Long hits their district drafting.

Why only 6 players?

Fantasy leagues use matchups between players. 6 allows everybody to play each other once. 7 would require players to have bye weeks (because 7 is odd), 8 would mean that each player wouldn't play each other player (only 6 regular season weeks).

Threads get auto-tagged with [FF], so I'm not sure how that would be done. An additional tag? Either way, sounds good to me. Also, it'd be hellish to do this draft on CD (like the auction draft we had for IRI that one time), so mixing up drafts hopefully won't happen.

Additional tag in the title, so the title would read "[FF]: [FFIM] ___________". Might also be possible to edit the title after posting so that the proper league tag is up.

Count me in if you have a spot still.

Signups so far:
1. Basel/3322*
2. PJ
3. Anthony
4. Mike

*Currently leaning towards fielding a team. Might not.

If there's still an open spot by the end of signups, Questionable Decisionmakers (TDav540, Pratik Kunapuli, Kellen Hill, and Brian Maher) would love to field a team. However, we're also playing SLFF, so if there are people who want to play and aren't signed up for that, we're happy to give up our spot.

If there is space I would be interested and open to playing with others if they would like to join.

I'd encourage anybody who's interested to sign up. If there's enough interest, I may just not field a team and run a second league instead.

Signups so far:
1. Basel/3322
2. PJ
3. Anthony
4. Mike
5. Questionable Decisionmakers
6. Jack

I would like to play if there are still spots available

I am interested as well, if there are spots available.

I won't take a spot away from someone not already doing SLFF, but if you need more people to fill a 2nd league sign me up. (Or if you need help running a 3rd league if it gets to that point)

Throw my hat in for being a person as "filler" to get a league up to enough people without stealing a slot.

While not quite as fun as a direct head to head (although more 'fair'), an All Play league may make sense. Basically, everyone plays everyone else each week and receives a win or loss for each match-up. For example, if you have ten teams, the team with the best score for the first week would be 9-0 and the worst score would be 0-9 with everyone else in between.

I don't know enough about Michigan teams to join, but I really like format of picking a team for the season and deciding who to play each week. Hopefully this works well and could be expanded to include all districts/regions in the future.

I thought about this, and decided not to because of the fun aspect. However, your post made it occur to me that it would allow more flexibility in the number of players per league. There is a fair amount of non-CD interest as well, so it could be good.
