Well, after I noticed that everyone beat me to the forums..... *sorry* I was busy being questioned by my overexcited mother!

A special thanks to 357..... and even an extra special thanks to 25. As a team 84 'driver team', we have accomplished many great feats. After a very rigorous year, with many ups and a few downs, we have finally achieved our prime goal. 25 - we tried hard the first time around, and found it was not our destiny.... however, when the opportunity arose today to have another shot at victory, we were glad you were there.

On a more personal note....
Grant, I know it was not the easiest, or probably greatest job as coming in for our coach.... you helped meet excellence at the Maryland State Fair, and thank you once again for your greatness and helpfulness.
Rob, (I know you are reading ;) ), what an unbelievable adventure. No matter what comes in the future, it doesn't get much better than this.... 541 long days + 80 matches driving + 6 competitive competitions =...... the achievement of a "CHAMPION" title.

Thank you to all teams at the competition. 341 - it was an excellent event, thank you for the special actions taken to help us get there.

It’s been 22 long hours since sleep…. Signing off….

GREAT event yesterday!!

Nice video screen w/ blimp cam, very well-organized, original lunch-time entertainment, fun & spirited teams, AND a community service component - can drive!!!

Competitionwise 225 didn't fair so well.....just one great 102 pt match with our double zoner........but our flock of freshmen had a great time!

Very nice. Thanks 341 and congratulations on the $30K sponsorship!

yes, that was one intense day.
During that last round, I was sure we were going to have to play a third round for the win.
303 and 222 gave me such a fright,
but the drivers from 84 and 357 really showed some violet vigor, and when we won, I just kinda stood there, in shock and confusion.
Once again, great job to EVERYONE and I hope to see you all at our mini competition, Brunswick Eruption!!

Ashley Weed 03-11-2002 10:36

Well after a well-deserved 10 hours of sleep, I have awoken to remnant memories of the day. After my sad findings that my anti-technology father did not use my digi camera, and did not realize there was not any film in the camera he was using, I find that all pictures have been lost. Please, anyone at all who has pictures of team 84 in action, the finals, or of the Championship alliance photo e-mail me at weedie@epix.net or upload them to Delphi. Thank you.

that's a great idea...

we have like twelve tapes from all angles so if anyone has a special request (moe's arm is already on the to-do list) just post here...

what made my day was looking at the overhead cam's film of moe's arm... it looked just postively awesome.. (moe- no insult intended- you guys were the team to beat and your speed at reparing that dreaded wing was incredible)

man... never knew I could be so tired.. thank y'all for coming- you made it exciting

Hey guys,

Ramp Riot was awesome. AND yes we did fix it incredibly fast and I must give a lot of credit to our pit crew, you guys are awesome. Now one tool that all teams need is a bear, we needed a little extra muscle bending the grabber back, so we used my dad, who did it barehanded. Team 303 way to go, there are def not any hard feelings, we love it when a team can do it legit(as joe said).

And for the footage you've all been waiting for, i have it, courtside as it happens. All i need is to give it to Alex on monday and he will post it on our site. (for those who dont know www.moe365.org)

Way to go to the champions, you guys were runnin strong all day. I really love how you guys can take such a beating and run strong, it shows how much work you really put into it all.

Carlo

RAMP RIOT, THANK YOU TEAMS!!!

To All Ramp Riot Participants:

THANK YOU for coming to Ramp Riot and being so enthusiastic all day long. We really appreciate your involvement and the many offers of assistance. What makes a competition great is the TEAMS and we try not to forget that. Last week, when we reviewed the list of teams that were coming, we knew we would have a great day. Everthing else, the music and prizes, are just extra.

We obviously want to make sure we show our appreciation to the sponsors that helped make this happen. So if you are inclined to write a note of appreciation here are some folks that helped us pull this off. I know you are busy people so if you feel you can only write one note and copy all of them that would be OK.

Christine Miller, Rohm & Haas , christine_m_miller@rohmhaas.com

Amy Bartley, BAE Systems, amy.bartley@baesystems.com

Mike Wade, NASA Goddard SFC, mwade@mscmail.nasa.gov

Louisa Hanshew & Carol Kauffman, FIRST Philadelphia, Llhanshew@aol.com

Patrick Schmidt, Radio Station Y-100, patrick@y100.com

If you do write these people a note please copy me as well.

I will send a note, very soon , about numbers and stats from Ramp Riot, but right now I have 2 weeks of grades to catch up on.

Thanks again for your support and Best of Luck during the upcoming season!!

first of all major props to 341 for holding another kick @$$ competition. (keep doing it. it's really fun) did anyone try that robot balancing thingy. that was so darn easy. (and iwasnt even here that year). anyway, MOE, if you noticed alot of MOE sticks were missing... dont worry they are in the good hands of some team 87 members. (me included) i also got to work our switchbox three times!!! that was really fun.

Ack. Is your dad still alive? :D (Erm...I'm scared to know the answer :-P) I, sadly, can't provide any pictures...due to my busy-ness that day...and, well, the lack of my digital camera. I forgot a lot of stuff that day. De had some pictures and I know Mrs. V did. And after that last match...wow...I thought I was going to get flung against the control board with that massive hug...I've also never been picked up that high before by one person (Mr. Volcano)...hehe.

--

Also...I'd like to request the last 2 matches of the competition.

Well...I am not well enough to atually verbally speak to people today.... I should of been in the hospital instead of at the Ramp Riot. So, right now the only yelling is my mom yelling at my dad.
I called De, and she only took like 4 pictures, I e-mailed the list in hopes that someone would have pictures.
You thought you were going to get flung against the control board???? I was flung against the control board and the entire wall in the player station..... I've never been hugged that hard before. ;)

Hey everyone. This is Mark from 303 and I was the co-piolet. Just saying that the ramp riot experience was the best. Even though we took 10th place and got 2 in the finals, it is still cool. Anyway also just saying sorry to mo for the loss of arm, it just happened. I am hoping that every team tries to make it to the Brunswick Eruption, because it will be the bomb. Also take a look at the picture i got, mo guys and gals take a good look at it. Finally good luck to all and if you guys get video of the ripping of the arm send it around to everyone. Thanks bye.

IMPORTANT ADDRESS CORRECTION for NASA

To All Ramp Riot Participants:

The address that I gave you for NASA might have been an old one. It is extremely important that Mike Wade receive our thanks. It is His field that made MD Fair, DoD, Ramp Riot and North Brunswick possible. We can't ignore His efforts. Please try this address if the other one fails.

( mwade@mscmail.gsfc.nasa.gov )

Let Mike know that we appreciate his dedication to the cause. Thank you for doing this.

Ramp Riot 2002

On behalf of team 103's drivers, Mike Williams, Zac Louden, human player Andrew Pucci, and the rest of the team, I would like to thank 341 for hosting the 3rd annual Ramp Riot invitational. We all had a great time on Saturday and it was nice to see so many familiar faces at the competition. We would also like to thank our alliance partners, teams 365 and 484. You guys did a great job and we enjoyed working with you.

I would also like to thank teams 84 and 272 for helping us score the two highest scoring matches of the competition. With the help of team 84, Chuck, we scored a match of 126 and with 272 we scored the all-day high of 129. And finally, thank you to all the teams for making this event such a great experience!
