Hey that could work ... maybe ... :D - Katie |
I'm a geek because the first computer I repaired had a maladjusted clutch.
I didn't even think about going to my high school prom. I spent more on my first calculator (PCs didn't exist then) than on my first car. (Of course it's not hard to spend more than $0.00). I ride a bicycle whenever possible because it is the most efficient form of transportation known to man (95-99% of energy input goes to motion) I spend my free time thinking up new tranny designs for robots. I use vacation time to attend FIRST competitions. I'm sure my wife could think of more. |
-Im a choir geek.
'nuff said -and robotics geek. -but im a hockey player. -but that only cancels out only one geek thing. -so i still am a geek. -i also cant wait to get home from school and check the chiefdelphi message boards. -i spent most of my class time in geometry last year programing my TI-83+ (whoever made that scoring program for their calc, can i see the code you used. that would be so cool to see it) -see above parentheses for another sign of my geekiness. -am upset with my 833mhz pentium 3 gateway computer. (why cant we get a faster one?) -first thing i look for in the sunday newspaper is the Best Buy and Circut City ads -Want many high tech things that i will never get(ie. segway, pda, laptop...) -get excited when Dean Kamen signed my shirt i could go on and on. but ill stop now -Ian i wrote all those things but some of you guys are more geekier than me |

...I run Debian Sarge :) I never even got Woody...skipped right to unstable/testing :D Currently running on 2.4.18. It's sweet stuff...the only things I can't get working is my USB HP photosmart printer and my Nikon Coolpix 880 digicam. I doubt I will ever get them working.

Heck, I could probably make up a list for you :P I don't know of many other people who do pre-scouting for off-season competitions. :P You put robotics over your life. There are more...not sure if you would care if I listed them, though :D I'm not trying to offend you _too_ much! |

If I ever want to print anything, I just copy it to /var/www and print it from another box... /me shrugs Just for the record, I love abcde. |
Well I can definately say that I'm not a techie kind of geek. I can boil down what my computer is used for to these things: email, IM, writing papers, checking delphi, and seeing what's being served in the dining hall that day.
I am however, a politics geek. I mean, do you know how excited I was when I memorized all the Presidents in order? I used to be the go-to girl for knowing ammendments and supreme court cases and now all I do is live and breathe politics (ok, that's a little extreme but that's just cuz I finished 3 hours of Bruin Democrat tabling and am way stoked for elections tomorrow). Forget college parties, I'm going to a post-election night party to rub elbows with all the California politicians. Seeing Ozzy Osbourne (the fore-mentioned "freak") on campus was cool, meeting Dean Kamen even better, being a foot away from Bill Clinton...I almost died! |
I check my e-mail at least 5 times per day
No thread on CD passes me unseen I check the stats of my website (www.team696.org) everyday I'm the only person you know of who sells long serial cables I'm posting here <edit> Oh yeah, and right before the build period deadline last season I was awake for 40 hours strait to complete the robot on time and fix our busted drivetrain.</edit> |
lol, being an internet nut very few threads will pass my presense.
*shrug* All for the better! |
I never check my email... a perl script does it for me. =)
