. . . I just ordered a pizza online!

And it is scheduled for delivery at 6:38pm (It's 6:07pm now).

And it took longer than just calling, plus had an extra 50 cent charge for delivery, but hey... You forgot the other reasons you're a geek:
You make me go to Ham Fairs and lectures about Linux.
You work on an ex-girlfriend's laptop before you go shopping for our anniversary (don't think you'll live that one down...)
You collect LED flashlights (which I'm not complaining about, it gives me something to buy for you for gift giving occasions)
You collect Walkie-talkies and have pictures of them on your web site.
By age 12 you were hanging out at Radio Shack everyday giving people advice (and they listened because you knew what you were talking abou).
You make lists. Lots and lots of lists.
I've never seen you happier than when you're taking something apart to figure out how it works or putting it together to see if it works.
You have a web page dedicated completely to your home computer with pictures and descriptions of each part.
You...know what? I could go on all day... you're a geek, plain and simple, and that's alright by me!

Here's a two-fer!!

Jason Morella and I are geeks because...

Last night at 3:00am we were the only two people on Chief Delphi.

So I called him at home, and we talked for an hour and 15 minutes about ideas for FIRST.

We both really need to get lives (and sleep).

let's not even bother trying.

We're all geeks, whether we like it or not.

Jason Morrella 06-11-2002 03:24

Thanks Dave

I was trying to keep my life/lack of off this thread. Which is why I hadn't bothered to list the "one or two" quirks I could have listed about myself in this thread. (no comments from the peanut gallery, let me slide with that number....thanks)

I'm sure your post really doesn't shock any of the people who know either of us - but I still had a chance to fool the new FIRST people who didn't know me well enough yet. THANKS!

By the way, for what it's worth since everyone keeps wondering about the National - I think it would be cool for FIRST to move the National from Epcot to a new city IF :
A) it was a cheaper option for teams and saved teams a couple thousand $ in hotels/transportation (no forced hopper pass, etc...) compared to past years
B) it was in a city more in the middle of the country, so that the majority of teams had shorter travel and less than a 3 hour time difference. (sorry Alaska & Hawaii and a few others - but it would still be 1 or 2 hours closer)

PS - that's an example from the "When your life or lack thereof is being discussed, change the subject quickly" handbook.

.....because i have my robotics shirt hang up in my closet and it is covered by a bag so it won't get dust/dirt on it

Dave, you are a geek because you're calling yourself a "curmudgeon".

curmudgeon:
n : a crusty irascible cantankerous old person full of stubborn ideas

I think you fit only one of those descriptions (ha ha, I'm not going to say which one)

Last two times apple released new hardware (not including this time) I stayed up all night and was the first person to announce it on spymac + macnn.

I was nearly banned from macnn once for posting so much

To date, I'm the only person ever in the history of macnn to have a negative post count

This is like the tenth time I've posted in this thread.
