Re: Ramp Riot 2016: The Official Thread
Congrats to 1640, 225, 321, and 272 for winning Ramp Riot! I was extremely impressed with how much 1640 improved in the off-season. They were already quite good last year, but were completely dominating this weekend.
Thank you to our alliance members 4954 Pallindrome, 1712 Dawgma, and 4454 Artisan Rockets for some great matches! Thanks for putting up with our robot issues during the playoffs, and special shout-out to 4454 for carrying us through Quarterfinals when we weren't working! And of course, thank you to 341 Miss Daisy for hosting the event! Always a fantastic opportunity to play the previous year's competition one last time while getting new members involved before build season commences. |
Re: Ramp Riot 2016: The Official Thread
I wasn't present at the event, but F1 may be my favorite 225 match in a long time. Both 225 and 1640 partially break when 225's dart locks up and 1640 loses air pressure, then 225 plays defense, while 272 becomes the dominant scoring robot on Red and 1640 breaches.
Video from 225's perspective 341, thanks for providing the live video footage during the event! |
Re: Ramp Riot 2016: The Official Thread
Team 4454 had an absolute blast at Ramp Riot this year! Congrats to 1640, 225, 321, and 272 for winning the event, it was fun going against you guys in semis!
Thanks to the alliance of 834 (Spartechs), 4954 (Palindrome) and 1712 (Dawgma) for picking us for eliminations! I feel like this alliance was a long time in the making, as we've all attended at least one event with each of you guys this year, but haven't had a chance to really work together. We had a blast playing in the quarterfinals. Miss Daisy always runs a solid event, and it wasn't any different this year. Mad props for being in a new setting (new gym and pits setup) and still having it go as smoothly as it went. Looking forward to competing in 2017! |
Re: Ramp Riot 2016: The Official Thread
Thanks as always to Daisy for hosting a great event and taking such good care of us volunteers. I know this year was particularly challenging with the construction forcing a new set up, but it definitely worked out. It was also great to have the judges and queuers on the GMS Game Management System with us more spread out. I love that thing! Thanks guys.

Re: Ramp Riot 2016: The Official Thread
Way back in ancient times, my son came home and asked if he could join the robot team. Said yes, signed the papers and the next thing I know I'm driving some students up the turnpike to some preseason robot competition called Ramp Riot. Had a blast and have been hooked on FRC ever since. So how many Firsters can say they have been to every Ramp riot there ever was?
