Championship info from FIRST

This is what they sent to team leaders:

Greetings Teams:

We will be releasing the Championship date and location next Thursday, November 14th both via e-mail blast to main contacts and via posting on the web.

Championship Registration will open 9:00 am est, November 15th simultaneously with remaining Regional Event registration. For those of you eligible for the Championship, please remember that you still have to register - admittance is not automatic but done on a first come first serve basis!

The hotel and travel reservation system will be opened as soon as all arrangements are finalized. We are working hard to provide economical packages that will include lodging, ground transportation, entertainment and food.

Have a great weekend!

Cheers,

Deb, Sue, Thelma and Michelle

Remember-

just when you see the light at the end of the tunnel you find its an oncoming train-

Am I correct in saying that if we win a regional or regional chairmans award or technical award this year, we automatically go to Nationals? How/When does the registration work for a situation like that?

You're qualified to attend the Championship under those circumstances. It's still up to you to pay for it.

When do you register for the Nationals if you win a regional?

If they do things the same way as last year, you will be able to register for the Championship the Monday after the event in which you qualified.

That's how we got in last year. We won the Buckeye Regional, and then signed up for Nationals the week after.

Ashley Weed 10-11-2002 10:18

I really hope it isn't any farther away than Orlando... if so... that causes issues.... there are certain people who may have their head explode if they have to fly... because the pressure will not decrease.:(

I don't know about you guys...but I'm going to the computer labs between every period tomorrow :P Heh. Good thing FIRST didn't give a specific time or their servers would most like receive a massive DOS from thousands of kinds trying to find out where they're going :P
