Relax. We all still have plenty of time for this. Airfares usually go up 30 days before flights. The Championships are still 5 months away. Every year, we do not buy our airline tickets until mid-January, and we still get decent deals.

Im not worried about us, I was speaking to several people who were worried about that Nationals was going to be during their spring break, and some seniors had their big Senior Year Spring Break trip planned. If they start working (and trust me people are already planning as of right now) that out with their group of friends going, and then all of a sudden the Championships is scheduled during their trip, there goes either nationals, or their once in a lifetime senior year spring break.

Trust me, I know this for a fact

KEYWORD: INTENDED... indicating that they wanted to -- but will not be able to, for another two weeks.

We fully intended to announce the date and location of the 2003 Championship today and open registration on Friday, November 15, 2002. Although we have been working diligently to complete arrangements and obtain the very best possible pricing for teams, we have not yet finalized all the details.

Sign Ups for additional regional registrations will open up tomorrow as scheduled. But, registration for the Championship Event will not be available travel packages are put together by the meeting company and the date and location announced.

So we all have up to two more weeks to speculate and enter the pool......:p

Man... I was so excited to find out where Nats would be, too.

It was the first thing I checked when I rolled out of bed.

I got to my programming class, when they had finally gotten the information up, and I ran to my computer to check for it. So I see the link about the Championship and... what a letdown. I thought the suspense was almost over, but pffffhhhhttt.

Just my story.

And it doesn't sound like it'll be in Florida anymore, so that sucks for us.

Well if FIRST conflicts with their schedules they can always postpone their "once in a lifetime" spring break to the summer. Its not all that difficult. Besides I am sure there friends will understand. FIRST is always a once in a lifetime event and even if you knew when FIRST was having nats its possible that they will plan it during your spring break. Are people going to drop out because of this? I hope not. My suggestion don't buy tix yet until u know when nats r. You can hang out with your friends all summer, or at least until they go to school but its your last year competing in FIRST. Trust me it is not something you want to miss.

Been There Done That Glad I'm out:)

P.S. Personally I am anxious because I want to know if my rookie team this year will be able to afford it. If its anywhere from Houston to California we can get there, if not were hoping to raise a lot more money between now and then. Heres hoping:)

Yeah well thats a given, my post implied that if the longer they wait to announce, some people will have hotel and travel problems. Once the championship date is squared away, the person can make their reservations and travel plans. Ive talked to several hotels that have already said that hotel reservations for spring breaks are already being made, and the longer we wait, there will be less rooms availible, and risk having to go somewhere worse.

The championship is not going to conflict with our spring break, because our spring break is in the middle of regional time...so Im speaking for other people who I have talked to [to clarify that]
