rrrr im mad. they didn't show anything of the many hours of footage they had of team 121. i even gave a big speech to them on strategy for a match and how no robot is good without good strategy. plus they put microphones on the drive team [edit]for the entire day of finals at nats[/edit]. the only shot of me is the back of my head before we go out for a match.

[edit]they also showed the last match of divisional finals where we lose. then they show the other alliance celebrating.[/edit]

Actually, courts found that file-sharing of television programs is beyond fair use policy. It's illegal.

I think they probably took a lot of footage of FIRST, and then had to condense it down to a few minutes of airtime. They had to take much more than needed, because they couldn't be sure what would be good material, and what would be bad.

Something similair happened to our team for an A&E special. We had people interviewed, and our pits filmed, and the only thing that was shown was footage of us deflating one of the big balls in a practice match (2001 game).

I actually kinda liked that though :)

I'm just as frustrated as Rick. In NYC and the Nationals they shot a lot of footage of us. Which I estimated was a little over an hour. This included interviews, matches, and couple of other things. Where they going to use all of it, of course not, but we least expected that some of it would be used. We gave them a lot of time talking to them and all. They were in contact with one of adult advisors asking for stuff, they knew they weren't going to use.

Don't get me wrong, the segment is good, but I feel really cheeped out by CBS, by not telling us that all the time we spent wouldn't be on there.

Oh course time is limited, and you can't have everything you shoot.

However as a message about FIRST, I thought it was really good.

A file takes about 10min to circulate over Kazaa, so it should be ready in about 5min,

Still looking for people to host.....

I didn't like how they described the game - "The challenge this year was to load as many balls as possible into a goal" or something to that effect. They completely missed the "Zone Zeal" part.

That sterling engine is incredible... I want to make one!

Or take one apart. S'all good.

Yeah, I agree too----doh.

At the end of those broadcasts, it usually says something to the effect of 'no part may be re-broadcast, redistributed, etc.. with out expressed written permission yada yada'.

I'm gonna say its not right -- but its Dean, and FIRST -- so I'll go edit these links / posts out in 24 hours. :)

We'll just pretend I didn't see it until tomorrow night. :)

Hmm..wonder how long till this is on /.

I have the file, but have taken down my link, and shut off my FTP now that the initial rush is over.

If you would like the file please email me, or contact me through AIM.
